      It works for existing customers.

      Just remember that you can't "port" your number. You must buy and have it pre-activated on the day of shipment regardless

      there seems to be confusion over the amaysim deals
      here is what i know for a fact, each amaysim account is allowed 5 sims atatched to it
      each new sim added, is classed as a new customer number, which means you are eligible for the deals recently posted by amaysim, the only downside is amaysim activate the sims when they are sent out to stop people ordering multiple sims for later use,

      you can delete sims at any time and purchase new ones, im constantly juggling sims to keep getting the latest deals from amaysim, often these deals last for a few months so just delete and add sims to your hearts content from the same account
      i have had 3 phone conversations with customer service to verify this information and have deleted and purchased many sims on special for new customers, while using an existing account

      so if you are an existing customer, just add the new sim to your account to take advantage of these deals

          dont bother phoning them you can never get through anymore and they dont que many callers you just get a discon
          normally i use the staffed online help desk, just ask them to delete any unwanted sims from your account and usually within 24 hrs its done, or send them an email as in the link above
          i use 2 accounts for the referrals, 1 account has 2 sims, my data sim and my phone sim, the other account has 5 sims which i delete and add when needed, each time i add a new sim, i use my first account as a referral, and i get ten bucks credit on each sim, i racked up over 100 dollars in credit just on referrals every 5 sims. plus the deals themselves, i just scored 7 gigs of data and unimited callls for 20 bucks, and got 2 10 dollar referrals in credit :)

          There's no problem owning more than one Amaysim SIM. The web management page even allows you to nickname each SIM for ease of recognition.

          you can have upto 5 sims on each amaysim account, all can be used at the same time, however when you purchase a sim from amaysim direct, they activate it before its sent, so you only have 29 days to use it, however amaysims deals often last for a few months,

      Where do I define micro sim to order. It says micro/standard sim. But I could not get anywhere to find micro only.

        That's the right one, it's a combi sim. You just push out the microsim where it is perforated

    It's targeted to existing customers. I got emailed my code and I bought one.

    The twist in my case was that as I was logged in when redeeming and I have no CC payment method for my account, it asked me to BPay $1 to get my SIM. I did that and the SIM arrived a couple of days later but already active so only 28 days of usage left.

    More twist. I got an email saying that I could not top up with just $1, minimum is $10. It seems their system wasn't programmed to recognise that the payment was for the SIM. I haven't checked my bank account yet to see if the money was refunded. I'm not fussed, but if it was, I got the SIM free. :)

      That's how I use mine. I have the regular $9.90 for 1GB auto-renewing pre-paid deal. Works great in an unlocked old Telstra pocket wifi thingy.

    The $1 1GB deal is for a second SIM card, for a tablet or mobile broadband modem. It can't be used to add a data pack to an existing service.

      It'll work fine in mobile phones too, it has an 04 number associated with it, thus useful to people with phones with dual SIM slots.

    I??.. .? Does anyone know how to make the 4 g coverage work on the 4g vodaphone pocket wifi device? Is it possible cause as i can't seem to get it to work for amaysim sims. I have the 4 g box ticked and I am in 4 g area as my telstra USB dongles work.

      When I got my SIM it was preactivated so there were only 27 or 28 days to run.

          @xywolap: Meh, first world problem. $1 for 1GB for 27 days is still good to me. In fact I only started using it some 10 days into the period because I still had the Vodafond 1GB SIM active.

          AFAIK… other telcos leave it for the customer to activate it when they are ready to use it. This is deceitful and even for $1 deceit is not on.

          @xywolap: If they had been thinking an equitable solution would have been activation on first use or 1 week after posting out whichever comes first. That would prevent people from gaming the system by hoarding lots of SIMs. But as I said, I can't get myself worked up in the least over this. Feel free to be outraged on my behalf. :)

          It does become more than $1… My unused acct was showing $20.80 owing.
          Amaysim rep said they are looking to adopt industry standard practice of allowing purchaser to activate.
          For now it is a good money spinner for them as most people will just pay up LOL..

          You have turned off the auto renewal for your data sim??
          It is hidden in the acct settings of your original phone acct if you have one.

          @xywolap: Yes, and even if I hadn't they don't have my CC details, I paid for the data SIM with DD and recharge my primary SIM with vouchers.
