Nice range at Hobart store? Just looking online and the prices are pretty cheap! $11 for new release blu ray. http://www.target.com.au/c/entertainment/dvds-blu-rays/blu-r…

Gone girl and frozen don't sound that cheap at half price.. I'd wait for jb buy 2 get one free deals

    • +1

It's $23.98 even on sale at JB. But of a silly comment, like saying new releases aren't cheap so I'll wait a year or so and buy them cheaper. Say that about almost any new product.

  • +4

    G.O.T Series 3 or 4 $20, Fury $14, Guardians of the Galaxy 3D $24, quite a wide selection of 3D movies available…Paddington 3D $16 etc

The Target original prices are the RRP so pretty expensive but some are better than others. I assumed a nationwide sale.

  • Worth a look. My local doesn't carry many good titles though.

  • +2

BSG complete $62.50, includes the Plan. Not sure if it includes the 5 million special features/commentaries on the US set.

According to the care instructions, it's even machine washable!

  • Water Diviner was shown on FTA TV around Anzac Day, +1 for my PVR

  • I'll check my local in the morning. Hopefully there's a decent range of blu-ray TV shows included.

Anyone have a thought as to whether Guardians of the Galaxy 3D also has a normal version on the disc?

    • +1

Yes it has (both the 3D BR and 2D BR in the one case)

But they also sell single 3D BR and single 2D BR version by itself.

      • +1

Thanks Donatello. In the end I purchased the BR/Digital for $19 and passed on the 3D.

      • Damn, must've sold out as I don't see either the 2D or 3D version listed on this page =(

        • I bought in store Agret. A few of both on the shelf.

  • +3

Picked up Gane of Thrones Season 1-4 $62.50 and interstellar $19

    • +3

You won't regret interstellar. A++ movie

    • Do me a favour, check how many discs GOT 1-4 is? Some sites say 20, others 19. I could only find 1-3 plus 4 standalone and that only has 19, so I'm wondering what, if anything, I'm missing out on. Thanks

      • -1

it's the disc where tyrion and cersei sleep with each other Morien

        • That is so wrong, even Game of Thrones wouldn't go there.

        • @deek: you're right deek. it would have to be a threesome.

        • Damn good looking couple too.

        • +1

          @cornbeef:
Oh, you mean the episode where Cersi comes to the realisation that her bitterness towards Tyrion is rooted in the fact that she wants to root both her brothers simultaneously?

I think that's a deleted scene. It's probably in the Season 4 blu-ray extras. As an Easter Egg.

        • @deek: deek, deek it rhymes with reek!

      • +2

        The set has
        Season 1 5 discs
        Season 2 5 discs
        Season 3 5 discs
        Season 4 4 discs
        = 19 :)

        • Thanks heaps, mate!

  • Thanks OP.

After coming home and looking at prices online.. i went to Target in northgate and picked up another 5 movies - Hobbit 2 3D $16, Rio 2 3d $19, Boxtrolls 3D $10, Paddington $16 etc.

  • Target at Erina had the Steven Spielberg Director's Collection (of 8 movies) in stock for $44.

    • Target morley have 2 of these I nearly picked it up until I realized I already own most of the titles in it, I was really only after Sugarland, an excellent buy though if you don't already own some of it

  • +1

Is it only Hobart, or across Australia?

    • +1

      Australia wide

  • Someone confirm its nation wide? Have a feeling it's at selected target stores.

    • Nationwide.

  • +2

Edge of tomorrow bluray + digital copy $11 looks cheap.

  • Looks good, although I purchased 5 BluRays yesterday at Sanity for $62.50, works out to be the same.

  • Some titles appear cheap but I got a few cheaper a month ago when jb had 20% off and buy 2 get one free.

  • Darn! I didn't see this until I got back from Eastgardens yesterday. I was also about to buy GOTG from yesterday, but thought I'd wait. I'm in no hurry to buy.

I'm at Blacktown now. GOTG gone. :( All their Blu-rays are at front of store.

    Titles
First 2 Hobbits in 3D, rest in Blu-Ray
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
    Penguins 3D

    All Marvel titles gone.

    They have like 50+ titles.

I picked up Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 3D/Blu-Ray combo.

I'm thinking of heading to Mt Druitt now.

Target are clearing out their Blu-ray collections and only going to stock some new releases. Thats why the 50%, once they stock is gone its not coming back.

    • -1

Sales wouldn't be good. Streaming and unauthorised downloads are taking their toll on physical copies.

  • Thanks OP. Only went to Target to get Big Hero 3D. Got 2 copies and Penguins 3D.

    • 2 copies of Big Hero 3D = Huge Hero 6D.

  • Just picked up Game of Thrones season 4 at the Hobart store, thanks OP.
A reasonable selection when I was there, only one more copy of GoT though.

  • When I was getting my Blu-ray the guy mentioned that they were getting rid of all blu ray in that store as no one purchased them. So if its select stores id say it was the ones getting rid of them.

  • It's nationwide. All BRs in Target are 50% off.

  • +1

Thanks, picked up Spider-Man 2 3d for $21.50 and The new Sin City for $13. Everything else, even at half price, is still more then I'd pay.

    • 3D BRs are always (and unusually) expensive, even at JB (on average the RRP is $35-$40 and upwards) and even with JBs 20% off discount.

You saved money by buying Spider Man 2 3D at Target ($11 by my calcuations) against JB's price with 20% off.

  • +2

    hobbit bluray trilogy $30

    • Good value for the 2D versions.

    • Managed to get the last set in Morley :)

    • I bought one of these at Adelaide CBD. There were still a few left.

  • +1

Small sign at Target Strathpine that this runs until May 31

    • In Adelaide CBD I think the sale sign said something like "Display until 27/05".

  • Fair bit of stock at my local Target store, but nothing I was desperate for, even the new releases. Ended up just getting the Gallipoli series for $12.50. Then headed to JB and got Orphan Black Season 1 for about $12 which seemed decent value.

  • Grabbed the Blu-Ray Platinum Edition of Batman Begins and Dark Knight for $15 total. Yeah! Now to look for the Platinum Edition of The Dark Knight Rises

  • Picked up the Fast and Furious boxset (films 1 - 6) for $30. Got the last one at Joondalup WA.

Also got Jurrasic Park 3D for $10.

They had a few Marvel titles there still .. Capt America 1 and 2, Iron Man 3, Thor and The Avengers.

    • I wanted the FF but they didn't have any :(

THe Hobbit Trilogy though for $30

  • do they have transformers the movie from 1986?

  • Saw it today and bought Transformers: Age Of Extinction - Blu-Ray $11, X-Men: Days Of Future Past $14.5.

I found that Target didn't stock a lot blu ray now.
