30 like and no comment, must be a record. But then I wonder any researcher using tablet to type their research paper.

  • its great for browsing papers and saving citations. Also why is it on itunes? Is justine beebear collaborating on the endnote album?

I appreciate the heads up on this deal - thanks!

On a personal level; after getting frustrated with the instability and slowly and sometimes poorly implimented 'new' features in Endnote (At least as of a couple years ago) - I switched to Mendeley; and I've never been happier :) - the fact it is free all the time serves as an additional bonus. All the best fellow researchers and students!

P.S - if you are an undergraduate student a reference manager will make your referncing life significantly easier; I'd suggest giving it a go - I really wish someone had told me of them earlier!

You got me at free. :)

    • I'd give Mendeley a shot, but it won't import the custom style I need (Harvard variant) and so, nope. They've been asked about doing this for years, so they're clearly not interested in making it easy to move.

      • You can can fully customise the citation style using the (terribly implemented) CSL editor http://csl.mendeley.com. Mendeley is a terrible mess, full of annoying bugs and bad design. But I use it for everything, because out of all of the reference management software out there, it is (in my opinion) by far the least worst

  • If you solely work with online databases that have easy reference export, Endnote is fine; but manually inputting them is a massive chore and the desktop program is one hell of a resource hog. Doing this all on a tablet is my idea of a personal hell.

  • All the institutions I've been involved with have provided endnote free for students and faculty. Check your software services: if you need it, you've likely got this for free already
