  • no, there's a limit of carrier/telstra billing of $20 per transaction :(

  • how to convert telstra credit (if i buy this) into google play credit?
can i just do it without putting the simcard into my mobile? im with other provider and not interested to try telstra

The SIM must be in the phone to be used as credit. The purchase must be initiated from the phone containing said SIM card.

The credit is to be used-as is without any conversion— to put it simply — you have Telstra credits and Google Play credit, but the Telstra credit is simply deducted once you made a purchase. It doesn't alter your Google Play Credit in any way.

      • i see. so i need to activate, put the telstra simcard in, make purchase using telstra credit, and then take out the sim and put my old sim back. the app/book will stay under my gmail account i supposed.
        correc?

  • There is a transaction limited of $19.90 I think, you cannot spend more than that in one transaction.

You cannot pool the credit together to use as one, for that to happen you would need to use Credit Me 2 U and transfer the fund from one sim to another.

  • I think what you can do is buy a lot of apps on the play store, and refund them. When you refund them, they don't carry over to your Telstra credit but rather it would accumulate to your google play balance. Then you would be able to redeem an item over $20.

Don't count me on this, but it's a possibility. I've seen items being refunded to google play balance instead of refunding back to Telstra credit.

    • Goes back to Telstra credit for me. Good idea though.

      • Oo interesting.. hmm i wonder if this would be replicated if i removed/swapped sims out. Ty

        • yeah probably if the sim isnt telstra it will go to google credit. please try with cheap apps

  • For those interested - I try to refund a cheap app, the refund was processed… but I have no idea where the refunded credit went lol. It's been about 2 weeks now.

Also, I have been able to stack credit with creditme2u, and I bought something around $80. Seems the limit for prepaid is <$100.

I want to stack some credit using the creditme2u since the limit has recently been increased to $100.

Would you mind sharing how you did this and how long does it take for the credit to land on the other service?

      Thanks

        I bought a few 30$ prepaid packs, say sim card A, B, And C.
I linked card A to my Google play account. Then I just transferred all of my credit from B, C onto A using creditme2u (just Google the number to dial, the prompts are something like; recharg > creditme2u > mobile number > amount > agree. It's really easy). Limit is $10 max transferred in 24hours, 25c per each time, whole dollar values only. So you'd be transferring $10, $10, and $9. Credit is instant.

        • Thanks, interesting point.

Previously I only placed in the Sim card A into the phone to purchase from Google Play (using bill to my account)

Does your method mean that you can actually skip inserting the Sim card A into the phone for it to bill to the carrier?

        • @GLO:
No sim card a still needs to be in at the time of purchase.

        • @bs0:
          thanks

        • Someone mentioned that there's an incentive where you get equivalent google play credit of the telstra prepaid recharge amount, so I'm trying to verify if this information is true. Transfer of credit may not be so troublesome if just stick to telstra prepaid. Anyone have experience?

        • @lovepeoplenotmoney:
Are you asking if a $30 Telstra sim can be used as $30 Google play store credit? Cause, yes, that's how it works.

        • @bs0: I mean if you recharge $30, do you get $30 bonus google play credit as well? Otherwise anyone can just purchase credit directly from google play store

          @lovepeoplenotmoney:
You're right in that there's little point in recharging when you can just buy play credit. I.e, if you recharge $30, you can either use that $30 for Telstra calls/and etc OR Google play.

The benefit is when you buy new $30 telstra prepaid sims on sale (essentially paying $2-15 depending on sale for $30 play credit). And by stacking them together, you can spend >$30 at once. I suppose if you can get discounted recharges, as opposed to new sims, this could also work.
          Does this help? :)

        • @bs0: Yes very informative and useful stacking method you described

  • Guys please help me. I want to do this one.
Please reply. Where can i get telstra sim cards and which one will i buy.

Read the comments above, it's all there. Otherwise the Telstra Sims are in-store/online, but there hasn't been many great deals on them recently.

Also this post is 2yrs old so I don't know if it works.

Also aren't you in the Philippines?

      • If i buy a $2 telstra sim, does it have credits already?

      • Yes im from philippines sir.

        • I don't think it will work in philipines

        • @bs0: but is it really possible in stocking credits? and if you use the credits in google play there is a discount or added credits? i am confused.

        • @bs0:
Last question sir. Is there discount in purchasing app in telstra sim card?
If you buy credits online for telstra sim is there a discount or the payment is as is. Thanks.
