BuyInvite - Are They Legit?

I recently stumbled across a site called www.buyinvite.com.au - seems legit.
They have fashion based deals every day for the duration of three days per item.
Has anybody here bought from them before and are the prices really bargain than say, DFO?

your thoughts?

  • Yeah they are legit and they definately sell way less than RRP. They have the traffic power to do this, so don't think that the companies they are advertising are ripping you off. It is all a part of marketing on both sides.

Grab the deals as they come, as you don't know how often they will come around again. Could be next week………could be every week for a few weeks………could be never again. Love the buyinvite site. Looks and feels good to shop in.

I love Dennipep hair extensions, and buyinvite were selling their stuff a couple of weekends ago. You also can get Hussy and other awesome brands. Very cool.

  • Here is my experience - please check vogue forums for poor experiences from others

    Why are they bad?

    • They take money out of your credit card immediately however it has been a month and the items are still yet to be delivered even though they advised it would be dispatched 2 weeks ago
    • When pushed they provide misleading tracking codes i.e. they told me the items have been posted, I then contacted AUSPost and they advised me that they have only received documents that items are pending and the business actually has not given the items to AUSPost! i.e. all the tracking code reveals is that the bought the postage packaging and that's it
    • They are not particularly responsive via e-mail
    • I contacted them via phone and mentioned they hadn't responded to my email - they advised that they were really busy and I was on the 'list' - this is a fairly ominous sign that they have a list of customer complaints to address and presumably the list is so long to get through that they cannot respond within a day?
    • They advised they had to check at the warehouse to determine why the items had not been posted - they were unable to confirm the issue via computer or a phone call - she said she actually had to go to the warehouse and this process would take a day

I know some girls have received some items from this website but given the poor customer service and deceptive behaviour I really don't think it is worth the risk and all the trouble.

In the end I did receive one out of the two items I ordered. The cost of the second item was refunded - reason for not receiving second item is that they didn't actually have this item - however they did charge me for the item and kept the money for at least a month before I followed up with them personally?

I encourage others to also share any bad experiences so other potential buyers can be made fully aware of what they are getting themselves into.

I would also welcome any response from buyinvite.com.au

    • Well maybe hairgal may come back, never voted or talked about anything else here.

I always suspect strange deals with strangers coming here to vote or comment.

This is the internet and not all friendly enthusiastic people are who what they say they are.

  • Brandsexclusive.com.au is a lot better. I got some invites, who wants in? just post ur email address

I buy from Ozsale (even have VIP membership), Brandexclusive and Buyinvite.

But lately..due to large volume experience (as I purchased almost 3 times weekly at one stage)…Ozsale has been really disappointing. Charging heaps upfront and not sending for up to 2 months, then lots of items are missing from orders..or they remove the large items then send me the leftover junk without telling me! I would have liked to cancel the order and not pay that expensive postage for the junk I only ordered on top of the main item if they'd informed me before dispatch!!!

Starting to wind down buying from Ozsale. Getting really grrrr at them. Don't think I'll renew my vip membership either. I have spent over $5,000 with them so far, and their customer service is shocking and disappointing.. and made me feel sooo mad.

They have things missing from orders and when I complain..no response whatsoever!!! Going to have to refute them on my credit card I think.

From experience, I have been very happy with the limited dealings with Brandsexclusive and Buyinvite..maybe because I have only purchased a few times from Brandsexclusive and once from Buyinvite. But all the experiences so far have been very positive.

    • Thanks for that info, I recently signed up to Ozsale, but have yet to purchase anything. I'll keep your experiences in mind now. I would be very hesitant to purchase from them.

      • Bought quite a few things from ozsale
Always recieved them not the quickest postage but all within 2 weeks so far been very happy and got all items as described all brand new and match the description

  • I was a member of Brandexclusive and forgot my password. I have sent numerous emails requesting them to send me a new one ,nothing so tried to ubsubcribe to there emails , nothig, are they legit and why cant I make contact. missed out on some good bargains on there lack of communacation

Hi - I would stay away from Ozsale. I purchased an item from them, they sent me the wrong size 5 weeks after purchase, (size 7 boots instead of size 9 as ordered). I then had to pay to return them, they didn't have the correct size in stock and so gave me a credit voucher, minus my shipping costs and a restock fee!
Couldn't get anywhere with them on the phone or email so thought right, I'll spend the voucher and retrieve some money back at least, then not deal again. Purchased an item, 6 weeks later it's been taken off my orders, I think they can't supply, and the value of the new voucher, guess what, minus the shipping once again. I spent $80 originally plus $10 shipping, spent another $15 shipping to return item, now have a voucher worth $43.00!!!!! Think I'll right it off as a bad decision.

  • Out of all these similar sites, i would only recommend buyinvite.com.au and brandsexclusive.com.au I have bought from both, and found to be great sites.

  • I didn't know buyinvite and ozsale had such so many unhappy customers around..I thought there were pretty established businesses

  • hey thomas can you please send me an invite?
    thanks mate.

  • I have had problems too with ozsale, and am tired of receiving part orders, them saying they will process a refund (which doesn't happen) and they do not refund the additional postage. The last straw was buying from a "buy 1 get 1 free" sale, and when the package arrived, there were no "get 1 free" items. There was a letter with it saying that the "buy 1 get 1 free" was only while stocks last… They often sell stock they do not have, then refund you later. Quite unprofessional. I also bought a watch from here for $11, marked down from $100 supposedly. However, what I received wasn't worth more than $5 at a local market stall.

On the other hand, buyinvite and brandsexclusive are quality products, but the discounts are not as great.

brandsexclusive has a terrible habit of advertising a sale eg Paul Frank, as happening tomorrow, then delays it to the next day, then the next, then the next.

  • thomas1987 or who else has one; could you please send me an invite for brandsExclusive at co160574 at hotmail.com?
    Thanks a million!

  • I'd be happy to send anyone invites for Brandsexclusive, Ozsale and Buyinvite if needed.

In regards to my experiences with them, all have been positive so far when ordering from BE and Ozsale, with quick responses to any questions I had. Ordered for the first time last week from Buyinvite so can't really give an opinion yet on them.

    • I'd love an invite to brandsexclusive - spanny_t at hotmail.com? Thanks!

      • Chemiluminescense, thomas 1987 or anyone else, please send an invite to brands exclusive to [email protected] , Thankyou

    • hey could you please send me an invite to Buyinvite as well? Would much appreciate.

      [email protected]

  • Done

  • Gaz I sent you an invite, but I've been having trouble logging on to BuyInvite since Sunday so can't send one Shadow at the moment. Anyone else having the same problem?

So here is my experience dealing with this company:

6th July - I place an order for a leather wallet.
30th July - I recieve the wallet, only to discover it is scratched and indented. I contact them about a refund. They tell me they can refund me (inc shipping) if I return the wallet to them. I am a bit annoyed that I will be having to cover return shipping for something that was their fault. They tell me that to return the wallet, all I have to do is put it in the same box I got it in and mark it return to sender. Because the box is much bigger than the actual wallet, I can't put it in a regular post box, so I have to hand it in at the Post OFfice. The Post Office workers are highly suspicious and question me as to whether or not the box had been opened, as they will not return to sender if it has been opened. I have to lie…and put up with them vigorously scrutinising the box (luckily I hadn't made much of a mess when opening it!) (I sent it off on the 3rd of August)
6th August - I contact them to see whether or not they received the wallet. They give a vague answer
10th August - I recieve an email from them saying that they have received my wallet and have issued me with a refund onto the credit card I paid with, and that it will show up in 3-5 working days. On the same day I get a call from them to relay the information written in the email.
20th August - I contact them via email asking why my refund has not been processed, as it has been well over 5 business days since the email and phonecall. I get NO RESPONSE to this email AT ALL!
Today (24th August) - I call them to ask whats happening. They tell me that my refund is second or third in line to be processed. I ask them why they told me it had already been processed - not once, but twice - and they give me some excuse about them having website problems, so no refunds had been processed, but that my refund is almost next in line and was actually due to be processed today (what a coincidence!). They can offer no good reason why LIES were told (ie saying a refund had been processed when it clearly hadn't been) - they can't even put this down to an error…it was never processed to begin with! They fail to admit their lie to me and can't explain why my last email was not responded to. As a "consolation" they have offered me free postage on my next order, which I declined, because, frankly, I don't want to deal with a lieing, sneaky company such as this one.

This whole episode was just a big waste of time and effort. I am wondering whether I will get my refund. I don't mind if they have had internal or system problems, but the fact that they lied to me blatantly, has turned me off. IT also makes me wonder how many people they say they are refunding, but don't refund - alot of people don't go through and check their statements.

    So my advice? STEER CLEAR!

  • Well they refunded me when I made two orders from the same sale and wanted to only pay postage once; I was emailed back within 24 hours after requesting it. Sucks that you went through that though.

  • I can't get inot the buyinvite store anymore? Is anyone else having the same problem?

  • Hi all,

I only registered to vent about ozsale. i wish i came across this website earlier and i wouldn't have wasted my money and time. I have been using buyinvite for a while and never had any complaints. So I decided to try ozsale thinking it was the same, that was a mistake! for my first order (and believe me the only one ever!!!) not only they sent me the wrong item but on top of that, they think they are smart by coding it the same as the item from my initial order/invoice, like I am not going to notice that I bought a tote bag and received a small shoulder bag instead. What kind of service is that? I am still waiting on their customer service to get back to me. I wonder what they are going to say if they say anything at all….they are totally misleading and I advise people to never ever buy anything from ozsale. I am not gonna advertise the others in the same field, but for your own sake do not buy from ozsale, ever. Cheers

    • did you hear back from them?
i've ordered from them numerous times, and had a problem with only one order.
i contacted them and they found a solution for me straight away.(in my case a refund)
i found their customer service much superior than brandsexclusive (can't comment on buyinvite as i've not ordered from them)
my inquiries have always been responded within one day.

  • About buyinvite . I have placed many ( about 12 ) orders since they started in October 2010. They give you the impression that you can return anything for a refund within 5 business days . You CAN"T!!!!!!

What they DON"T SAY is that they will NOT credit your card - ie they DO NOT refund money , they will only give you a store credit.

This is stated in their Returns Policy but pretty well hidden ie not that easy to find. Emailing them is not easy either.

They give you their member.relations@ buyinvite.com.au address ( something like that) but it isn't live - if you want to email them you have to manually type that in again . Making it DIFFICULT not EASY to contact them.

You are supposed to email them about returns as well ,plus put the reason in for the return . If it because you just don't like it, or it doesn't fit ( shoe size and clothing size is a problem as different makes have slightly different sizes) you pay the postage back and only get a STORE CREDIT. You do NOT get a money REFUND.

I tried to ring one Friday shortly after XMAS. I stayed on the line for 25 mins constantly redialling trying every extension option offered and NO ANSWER.

    No one there!

And it does take a long time to get your stuff .

By the time it arrives you've forgotten you've ordered it! I have sent 3 shoe orders back and have been waiting nearly 2 weeks for a response and a "store credit"; on my account.

    Nothing.
I will NOT buy from them any more as I think that most people think they can get a full refund on their card if they Return something. You CAN"T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BuyInvite - I ordered 2 childs games, initially my card was debited twice for this transaction, however they did refund one amount straight away when told. After 3 weeks they contacted me to say one of the games was not available and they would substitute it with another if I agreed. The game was nothing like the one I wanted, so I said no I would have a refund. The one game arrived after about 4 weeks from ordering, and after another 3 weeks, with weekly reminders, I still have not received a refund. I now plan to email them every day until something is done. They also advertise specials coming up, and on the day they do not appear. I will never buy from them again.

  • I am still trying to get an email response from several attempts to contact them about their Returns Policy. Nothing.

Another thing I noticed. They advertised some nice Paul Taylor eyewear heavily discounted - The frames I wanted were green and orange , which I ordered then thought I'd get a second get a second plainer black pair as a spare . When they arrived only the black pair were in the box- I was not contacted to see if I wanted to pay postage on just one pair. The packing slip said the green and orange ones were out of stock.

About a month later EXACTLY the same sale was advertised and YUP! the green and orange frames were headlining the sale as the main photo, showing as available. I emailed them AGAIN and asked why I had not been contacted when they came "back" in stock.

    As usual, no reply.

I suspect they never were available just used to get people to buy up the plainer ones , as I did—may as well get a second pair etc etc

I have checked many other online shopping sites esp clothing and shoes, where choosing the right size is an issue.

They all refund your money. Buy invite WON"T

  • Brands exclusive are great! Haven't had to follow up a single order. Ozsale are an absolute nightmare! The orders take ages to get your orders if they supply the orders at all! Still waiting on refunds they owe means have had to put a complaint through the accc to try to get it resolved. Hopefully I'll get it back after they contact ozsale next week. They ignore the contacts system with non comital responses if at all a week later. Worst online shopping ever ozsale!!!!

  • I've ordered a watch from buyinvite. After several succesfull orders.

The item showed as shipped and I waited for the arrival, nothing. Two weeks overdue I contacted them and they claimed their can't find any confirmation that the item shipped. They would refund me. It's now three months after they said they will refund me still no money. I tried to phone them no answer. Their communication said they refuned me on the 12th of October. It's now November and I still don't have my money back. They refuse to comment, they refuse to give me a remittance.

Their "invoices" have no contact details on. Illegal I believe. No ABN nothing.

My concusion if you buy from them and things go wrong, you are going to be hard pressed to get your money back.
