BuyInvite Sent alternate replacement items instead

On the 20th May i placed an order in BuyInvites Henley's sale for a hoodie and a t-shirt. All up i paid $81.00 inc. postage for the purchase. I received them today. I ordered the following hoodie.

http://www.espyclothing.com/henleys-revelation-hooded-sweate… (But blue writing instead of yellow)

Instead they sent a black hoodie with a zip down the front, with a white/cream Henleys stitched on the front. Nothing even close to what i ordered. http://shop.newgeneration.com.au/products/henleys-mens-troph… (but cream writing)

Also was an attached note;

"Dear Valued Member,
It is with deep regret that i write to inform you that unfortuantly, due to a supplier stock error, we are not able to provide you with the Henleys Nigella Hoodie from your recent order. As a result we have replaced this with the Henleys Trophy Hoodie, which has a RRP of $10 more than the item you ordered at no additional cost. We would like to also offer you free postage on your next order, please contact me at [email protected] to arrange your free postage"

This must be in breach of the Trades Practices act, and i simply not good enough.
I don't care if the RRP of this is $10 more! Its ugly. (i also think they are lying since the other had a RRP of $99.99 as stated, and this is marked at $99.99 on the tag). Any1 got any thoughts/ideas/views on this?

That is just not on. Contact the guy, ask for a full refund (including postage already paid and a refund for postage to send back). I could understand a substitution for the same colour, but that is completely different. They should never have sent it to you, and I think they have had a few mixups to many. On the bright side, at least you didn't have to wait a month for it to arrive…. (ok not quite a bright side).

I gave them a call, they said that the jumper is a gift to me and they will now refund teh money i paid for it within 2-3 working days. Thats some good service!

I don't think that's good service- they should have refunded immediately instead of waiting for you to complain. They were probably just hoping customers won't complain and will keep the goods, which is dodgy!

I made my first purchase with BUYINVITE a few months back and won't deal with buyinvite again.

The slip they put in with your package doesn't give full details of refunds, ie time to send good back and that they do not offer a cash refund only a credit.

These details are probably in small print somewhere on their website but not on the packing slip where you would expect the details to be. Cunning!

The sizing on the items was way out so only 2 out of 4 items fitted. The material in one wasn't really what I expected either.

Probably easier to buy from ebay. I won't be buying from them again and as you can see definitely not recommending them.

  • BEWARE OF PURCHASING FROM BUY INVITE - ordered two bracelets on Saturday and cancelled order by email Sunday - rang today (Monday) to confirm that the cancellation went through and was told that they would cancel the order but that I could not get my money back, they would only give me a store credit to use within 12 months. I don't care what their policy is I believe that if an order is cancelled within 24-48hrs then the money should be returned and not in the form of a store credit - obviously I will buy something to the value of the credit but after that I will never purchase from them again - if you want to deal with a good online store then look at Brands Exclusive, i've always found them to be great to deal with, they give a full money back refund if an order is cancelled which is exactly they way it should be. BuyInvite need to get their act together, if their business depends on locking people into credit notes for items not sent/not wanted then it doesn't say much for their company, they need to offer better customer service if they wish to keep customers coming back…..I won't be and my friends agree!!!!

Today is tuesday, do you have a time machine?

      • lolol!

    • I completely agree with you, thehut/zavvi did a similar thing to me and there wasn't jack I could do. I couldn't reject the item like some suggested since it didn't require a signature but I was not evil enough to pretend I didn't get it either. What made it especially worse is that they're located overseas.

On a different note, how does one get invites to brands exclusive?

  • Hi Leonheart1 brandsExclusive.com.au is their site- they're a great site to deal with, never had a problem. Thanks Mikinoz for letting me know it's Tuesday….meant YESTERDAY!!!!!! not today…..
