100

This device can make your non Bluetooth sound devices have Bluetooth capability!

Not a bad price, considering they are usually $48 from JB/OW. And $37 from PCG/EBay.

  • Anyone actually own one of these and how is the sound quality?

    • I just bought one for myself, so soon to find out. But reviews don't make it sound too bad:

    • I just bought one through Dick Smith's Ebay the other day. Easy to use, sounds pretty good. A little bit of static seems you come through when you put the volume high, but this is using a line in on my computer speakers.

    • I bought one last week during the Ebay sale and there was a little static at first. I just unplugged the cables and reconnected them again and all good. I've connected it to my amp so I have to have the volume on max on the phone / ipod and a little high on the amp itself. Sound is quite good for $25.

    • Sound is good, if a little quiet. Had a problem connecting once but since then has been fine.
Definitely worth it for the convenience of streaming wireless.

Was $25.15 last week during eBay Sale

    • Dang. Well for those who missed out (like me) you've got this!

    • Lol, and today its $29.31 - a dollar cheaper than yesterday!

  • +2

probably will be cheaper in tomorrows sale.

  • I'm a bit confused. Is this a transmitter or receiver, or both?

I want to plug this into to my non-BT TV and then get it to send the sound to my bluetooth headphones. Does this do that?

    • +2

      No.

You plug this device into the RCA/3.5mm of a speaker or amp - and that gives it Bluetooth capabilities. So then you can pair your device (eg phone) to the unit, and be able to stream music through it.

    • +2

      No. Its a receiver only.

Yeah, wasn't sure. Glad I asked. Thanks for responding whytd and Coley!

If you are after a transmitter, especially one that can be used with 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones, you can try this:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Syllable-E3-Bluetooth-Box-Transmi…

I got one (from another seller and paid a bit more) and it works well to send the signal to 2 different bluetooth headphones. Amazon is also selling these with plenty of positive reviews.

The instructions are a pretty bad translation from Chinese and it took me a while to get it to work with 2 pairs of headphones at the same time but it works very well.

It's really tiny - a similar size to a matchbox and about one third of the thickness. The battery lasts a good 7 hours and it's rechargeable via micro USB (comes with a cable too).

        From the description -
"You can listen music or watch TV with your family and lovers."

Hmmm… brings new meaning to 'One big happy family'. ;)

  • If you don't need the RCA but only 3.5mm, how different is this comparing to those bluetooth audio stick sold for under $10 delivered on eBay?

    • Those $10 sticks usually take power from an USB socket, but this one uses a tiny AC power adapter. Some sticks have built-in rechargeable batteries.

The A2DP profile compresses audio to SBC with max bitrate of 345kb/s anyway (*), so you are not going to get audiophile grade output. (Unless you want to spend big and buy an aptX gadget.)

Base your purchase decision on whichever form of electrical power is more conveniently available to you.

(*) A2DP can optionally use MP2, MP3, AAC, HE-AAC, and ATRAC, and a max bitrate of 512kb/s, but these cheap gadgets don't use them.

Just wanted to post these here : Found this device to be awesome. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Avantree-TC200-2-in-1-Bluetooth-S…

It sends and receives signal, handy if u want to bridge 2 devices that are not Bluetooth at all.

Further, sometimes they go on sale, i picked up mine for $25.

Anyway, no significance, just wanted to show u guys some options as the Logitechs are exy, really, for what you get

    • just wanted to show u guys some options as the Logitechs are exy

That's $40 for a generic no name one, this is $30 for a branded Logitech one.

  • I am looking feedback for this compared to HomeSpot.

  • Not expired. This worked for me just now. It was a dollar cheaper too.
