  • Ha! Only got this email myself one minute ago.

  • Already on it. Damn work PC has alcohol websites blocked so I'm trying to do it via my phone, without much success

A few others on special too including this one which is quite nice
    https://www.1stchoice.com.au/Spirits/glenlivet-12yo-single-m…

    • I'm with you there, I always have a bottle on hand

    • If you like your Glenlivet 12YO, stock up now. They will be phased out and replaced with a new Founder's Reserve. Had some, and can say it's not half as good. The lack of an age label suggests they might be aiming for the minimum 3 years mandated for all "scotch", and not longer, so they can turn out more bottles.

  • DM has the Dalwhinnie, Talisker 10yr, Oban for 5 cents less and of course they will price match.

Talisker Storm is a very ordinary whisky btw. Very murky flavour compared to its brethren.

Talisker Storm is a very ordinary whisky btw

It tastes better if you're mixing with Coles brand cola…

    • been waiting Talisker 10YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL on special for a long time. very disappointed about the 20% off is the same as DM's offer
was considering Talisker Storm, may give it miss now

    • out of those 20% malt, which one would you recommend please?
I really like Talisker 10YO, will Dalwhinnie 15YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL be another choice?

      • I'm guessing based on the Talisker that you will like smokey, peated Speyside malts.. and the Lagavulin is a decent one to start at.

Dalwhinnie is a Highlander but i suspect a Speysiders like the Cragganmore may also be to your liking.

        • Dalhwinnie is very different from Talisker. No brine or smoke. I like it very much but it is quite different.

        • @garglebutt:

Indeed. Jamesx says he enjoyed to like both talisker and dalwhinnie suggesting a pretty borad palate, which is why i suggested Lagavulin and Cragganmore.

    • The Talisker Storm is intended to be especially briny (salty). Perhaps that's the character you described as "murky".

It's not an easy drink by itself, but does match well with fresh seafood, especially oysters.

      • Maybe more mangrove than salt. I tried it with seafood and also as a weird cocktail with honey amongst other ingredients. I just found the Storm to not have any distinct flavours and Dark Storm was worse.

I much prefer Talisker 57° North which is very briny.

    Any bargains ?

    • +3

      Glenlivet 12YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL $48 + Talisker 10YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL $63 = $111
use AMEX $15 back for $100 purchase, both $96, could be cheapest bundle for both nice single malt

      • What amex deal? That's liquorland, not First Choice

        • oh yeah, my bad

        • +1

Liquorlands "insult pricing" wipes out all of the Amex $15 (and more)! From Liquorland with this deal it would be Glenlivet 12YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL $60 + Talisker 10YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL $85 - Amex rebate $15 = $130. Thanks for the rebate liquorland! (Not!). Don't bother.

    • I think The Cragganmore 12 is a great drop is $75 at dans so $63 is a good price

  • I lucky enough to have 2 bottles Johhnie Walker Green Label still showing in stock at vintage cellars

A special limited release for the 10 year anniversary

    • One left now. Have been looking for Johnnie Walker Green for a while! Thanks renster72! Their Oban 14 ($79.99) is a better price than anywhere else also! Order went through but now I'll just wait for the "out of stock" email for the JW Green….

      • how did you guys check stock? i bought as well..but not confident it will pass thru as i've been searching for green more than 6 months now

    • Whirlpool Forum Extract:-

Dan Murphy's has confirmed by email to me that they will be stocking JWGL sometime at the end of June.
They weren't certain of an exact date however.

Vintage Cellars (owned by coles) did supply me 2 bottles of Green Label, at $75 a pop so what I remember paying for it in the past.

        • They have run out of stock for now AND put the price up to $80. Have seen it at a couple of other places but around the $85 Mark.

Got an order into Vintage sellers at the old price yesterday which was accepted so we'll see what happens? Might give them a call today to see how order is going.

        • @argonbay:
Although currently listed at $99.99 this website says they are getting it 12.06.2015

          http://www.mybottleshop.com.au/product/johnnie-walker-green-…

Thanks for the tip though, didn't know about this year's re-release of JWG. Last one I had was early 2011, didn't know it was being discontinued until I later went looking for it a year or 2 later ..
