New Seagate portable expansion drives now only has 1 year warranty according to CNet Australia, 17 April 2015, but the one on sale at JW is the old model. UMart, Shopping Express, and Computer Alliance all claim 1 year warranty. Seagate claims 3 years warranty for the 2TB variant of this drive (STBX2000401). Without looking at the drive's packaging and without checking its serial number, I honestly do not know how much warranty this drive comes with.

The data sheet from Seagate shows the following for the STBX series drives, however the 1.5TB variant is missing from the data sheet.

        Region Warranty
        America 1 year
        Europe/Middle East/Asia 2 years
        Australia/Pacific 3 years
  • Seems like a pretty good price. Does anyone know if this is a good option for upgrading a PS4 HDD?
