is this clicky or silent? any recommendation on wired silent gaming mouse>

    • +2

I'm using one. It's a quiet, dull sound.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GCm0CDv7aM
Only the mouse-wheel down-press and the wheel-lock is loud.

      • +1

hmm, still louder than I was hoping, but thanks for the video

    • +4

very clicky and the cord is super stiff… most stiff cord of any mouse i've ever seen. mouse it self is great though. but heavy … very heavy and it comes with even more weights.

      • +1

We have different cords. Mine isn't braided, and corresponds to Google images of serial 910-005472, but the one with the same serial on Amazon shows a braided cord.

        • +1

Braided was the older pre-cutback Logitech. The "new G" all has crappy generic rubber cords.

    • +1

You can open it up and mod it

    • +2

It's pretty bloody loud, not going to lie. The scroll wheel was the death of me. I had the wireless one for a couple of years until the left click died out on me. I personally wouldn't recommend. I have a Logitech G600 from years back that I had to fall back to and I think the quality of products from Logitech isn't the same as before, in my experience.

  • +1

Very tempting… my G502 from 2015 has a broken middle click button and I've just remaped it to "middle click right" instead. I hope for that mouse to go on forever.

    • Can’t you program it so that the extra button behind the scroll wheel becomes the middle click instead? Or do you have that mapped to something else?

    GOAT

Not related to the deal but I've had two of these break on me so far….might want to stock up for replacements as well.

    • Yeah the button switches always go on mine. I was looking at the G502x with the new optical switches but they changed something else I didn't like, I can't remember what at the moment.

      • I replaced the normal 502 (with click issue) with a 502x, the click sound is worse, but the mouse is suuuuper light and im happy with it.

      • Yeah same, the left click always starts to double click on me after about a year

        • just gotta clean it

          • @eddyah: is there a specific thing to clean? I read it was a dodgy clicker issue, but is it just hand gunk?

      • +1

If it's the left/right buttons that are going, and you know how to solder, you can get replacements for them pretty cheaply

and you can even customise them at the same time with some slightly nicer options

        • I do have a nice Weller station that I am not using enough these days, I'll have a look into it cheers.

    • most of my logitech products after 2 years which is the normal warranty. I find it worth the money are worth buying another.

  • recommend the wireless version. wired is meh

  • This is a very solid mouse and cheaper than most chinese mouse at this price tbh.

    • +3

arent they all made in China anyway ?

    • +2

Not sure about that, Logitech's quality has fallen off a cliff since the Superlight and most Chinese ones have gotten far better.

    • +1

chinese ones last longer, are cheaper, and unless you get the <$30 ones, have the same core components (paw3395, nordic mcu, good switches)

      • Ive got the mchose g7 pro, its feel cheap when compared to my g502

        • +2

Fair enough… go with what you prefer… but I feel people conflate "cheap" and "light"… except maybe for the skates, which tbf, are cheap, lol.

My dragonfly r1 feels great though.

Have the G502 X Plus variant, and while many complain of its weight, it was definitely lighter than I’m used to.
Of course pros need very light mice since they can actually control their arms better, but I find light mice to be a gimmick for casual players unless you have good enough control over your arm to justify using lighter mice.

    • +1

Lower weight = less strain so you can play for longer.

  • Been daily driving mine since 2016. The only issue I had so far was the middle button was working intermittently, but it was just a simple fix by removing accumulated dirt/debris that were sitting between the button and wheel. Great mouse.

  • +1

I had this for years - it was very heavy even with the weights taken out. I'm using a razor equivilent, much lighter.

  • +2

Normal price at centrecom is $59 if you have one near you and want it now.

I have one of these and I like almost everything about it except that it is so heavy. No idea why you would want to add additional weight to it. From reviews online these also can get the double click problems that Logitech had for a while. No problems so far personally but I've only had mine a few months. Some good guides online to replace switches if you're handy with a soldering iron.

  • +1

My previous one lasted me over 10 years, moved on to the wireless version now - may it last another 10 years.

I also tried the new G502X - this mouse is not the same, the shape is slightly different and gave me the sensation of my hand slipping off ending up with wrist and forearm pain.

  • +1

oH dAmN I jUsT pAiD $59 fOr ThIs 2 WeEkS aGo :( :(

    Still worth it!!! Great mouse.

  • +2

Still using my indestructible MX500 bought 20 years ago. It looks like a cockroach and is sure tough as one.

  • I have this one, but for some reason, its a bit awkward to use.
Maybe I am not use to it yet? Maybe it needs more rubber texture?

The Basilisk is a better fit for my hands.

  • IMHO 903 with hero 2.0 sensor FTW. Couple it with a lightspeed trackpad (get the OLD one not the new reboot) and you'll be laughing for eternity.
I added mousegrips and superglide glass skates when the teflon died.

YMMV with the current new batch of Logi. Tis sad, this was a very dependable brand but now the MBAs have taken over.

  • REMEMBER You can price beat with OfficeWorks for 5% off, I just did this today

  • Thanks, bought one.
Currently using Lenovo Legion M600 and was using G402.
    Prefer Logitech .
