Woolworths Click and Collect ID Requirements for Pickup

Just wondering what the ID requirements for click and collect are at Woolworths.

My Dad's account has a useful voucher for online shopping which he won't use.

I'm happy to take make use of it but I'd like to avoid $11 delivery fee.

Won't really work if they insist on something like a driver's licence to pick up the shopping. If they are happy with the printed out order confirmation then that's fine.

Anyone have experience?

Thanks

  • They do ask for photo ID.

    • I didn't get asked for ID at all on my last pickup which was for the trolleyload of toilet paper.

Or in the comment box. Write to be collected by my son (and write your name)

  • I saw a sign at Woolies today saying you can actually link your everyday rewards card so in future you only need to show that

the sign referred to http://http://simplycollect.com.au/ - and you can register at the ciggie/mobile phone counter

That would be for Simply Collect, so orders from Ebay, Ezibuy, BigW Online rather then Online Click and Collect Woolies orders.

For those orders you'd need the PinCode if you haven't linked your C&C with EDR. PhotoID would actually not suffice for how that system works.

      • ah, cool, thanks - I thought the OP was referring to ebay click and collect orders — ops :) thankyou for the clarification :)

No referring to picking up groceries

  • have you tried using the code with your own name?

    • Yes, doesn't work. Targeted campaign.

      • When you used it with your name, did you use his EDW card?

  • If you have the same surname it's fine, they'll just ask for ID and write your name down

  • Medicare card? I have collected orders for my daughter before using this

  • Simple

    Call 1 800 000 610

And say your dad wants to order and have you pick up. How do you do it what's required.

If they say use your card, tell them he wants to use his EDR etc

That way you find out for sure and have someone to refer to if the store tries to do something different.

The conditions do state (calling will confirm this for you)

10.2. You agree to comply with certain collection requirements specified in this clause and such other requirements that we notify to you when you place your Click & Collect Grocery Order through the Site:

    (a) you must collect your order from the store selected by you when you place your order;

    (b) photographic identification and a signature must be provided when you collect your Grocery Order; and

    (c) the card used for payment is required to be shown when you collect your Grocery Order.

10.3. If you will not be the person collecting your Grocery Order then your representative must provide us with proof of their identity (including photographic identification) and, where relevant, age, and the card used for payment.

So pay with your credit card, and take his EDR card with you.

  • As long as you have the same surname, youre fine.

  • Bring the collection notice email(the invoice), bring the same card that your dad used to pay with, and wouldn't harm to have signed letter from your dad authorising you to collect, so since he mentions your name collecting on his behalf, make sure you have your photo id with your name.

  • A few hours before my Click and Collect was due, I called Woolworths up and told them that some one else would be picking up my order. They told me that was fine and they added their full name in the comments section as the person that would be picking up the order. They also advised them to bring a copy of the invoice.

  • Its annoying, I have issues every time as I dont use my "real" name for marketing or lists for the same reasons I dont use my real name as a username here.
I do produce a screencap of the invoice on my phone and I do produce my EDR card as ID with matching name but it is always a drama for them.
I dont know why they then always insist on sighting my licence as the name on that does not match any of their records.

  • Your results are going to vary depending on the store you pick up from.

Last year I picked up three or four orders that were in my husbands name and I never had a problem.

As mentioned in one of the comments, make a note somewhere in the order as to the name of the person who will be picking up the order. I haven't done an order with WW recently so I don't know where they have put the notes system in the new online website.

I've never been asked for photo ID when I've picked up the order. I've always brought in a printout of the order confirmation and a copy of the email confirming the order. The staff have used this paperwork to match up the order.

I don't know if this is relevant but the largest order I have picked up was around $60. It's possible the staff are more strict with larger orders.

  • To feed back:

There was no "comments" section when doing a click and collect order.

Woolworths advise that you should just put the name of whoever is collecting in the shopper's notes for any one of the objects you are purchasing. On this occasion they did it manually by phone.

At the store, I brought a copy of the confirmation email.

They did not ask for photo ID. They didn't ask me my name, only took the confirmation email from me. I was purchasing about $100 worth of groceries.

    Everything worked out fine.

Just a few cautionary words about the online purchasing though.

The expiry dates of stuff they give you can really vary though. Some meat expired within 2 days while other packets of the same thing was lasting for 6 days.

Same for some grocery items with some stuff expiring in 2 months while others of the same item lasting for 10 months. I didn't feel like complaining, but these are the things you make sure are not the case when you buy for yourself.

Hmmm…buying meat online is the last thing I'd do. You don't get to choose your cuts. If you look at the packaged trays, some cuts have much more fat than the others (as with lamb chops etc)

      • true, but as with deli items, you always receive more than what you paid for - and if you're not happy, refunds are given :)

    • Thanks for letting us know.

i've previously received refunds for short-dated goods via online chat and sometimes an extra coupon with their fresh-or-free guarantee

  • As long as it's the same surname or same address it should be fine, I have picked stuff up for my wife before and did ask this question specifically
