  • Anyone know about these? any good?

    • +1

I have one of these and works fine for what i need it for.

Can't go wrong for $3.46 delivered.

      Or buy 3 for $3.13

    • +2

Yep definitely worth having one in every draw in the house.

    • Bought some a few years ago that were fine. The ones that haven't been lost are still working.

Bought some more about a year ago that were rubbish.

Think it's luck of the draw with these.

I find the head comes loose every now and then and causes the light to flicker. Just needs tightening and good for a few more months.

They look the same as the ones from this deal from gearbest.

Two days ago I received 3 of the 6 I ordered and none of them worked. I've raised a support ticket and sent a video I made of me testing them. Still waiting to hear back.

They are cheap for a reason. Definitely a gamble.

    • +2

Hmm that doesn't sound good. I bought a couple myself from the same deal.
Took GearBest 2 weeks to ship them which was disappointing. Still waiting for delivery. I doubt I'll buy from them again.
My dealings with Banggood have been much better, so hopefully you will have better luck with this current deal.
Others of these flashlights I have (x6) have all been great.

      • I an still waiting on mine from the last Gearbest deal … I don't think I am going to receive it

        • +1

I got mine yesterday (QLD) from that deal..so there's still hope.

    • +3

I bought 2 from prev GB deal, 1 worked 1 did not. They want you to ship the item back in original packaging. I was about to buy a phone from GearBest, but after the pain for a doa from GB, I wont be buying more from them.

    • +2

I received 2 of these yesterday from what I reckon was the same deal and neither worked. I went to their site to complain but I thought I'd look at the reviews first, if you translate one of the french reviews he explains that they only work with a certain rechargeable battery (also available on their site). It's bullshit but I can't be bothered arguing with them over $6 worth of torches that I really don't need anyway. I remember almost going insane trying to get some money back from DX, Tmart or Dinowhatever years ago and it just wasn't worth the aggravation.

    • i didn't have any problems with my orders so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I've been ordering a lot through Banggood for their budget lights because if you have a problem, I just email them and they just send out another one to me. no questions asked.

I've bought laser pointer pens with a small LED, budget no brand chinese lights to high end lights (nitecore / fenix) and although only a few no brand lights were not working, which they've replaced, all the high end lights worked flawlessly.

    • None of the 4 i bought from them worked, went through returns and they said they'd send out replacements. I asked them to test with AA's before sending because their info might be wrong; it's been over a month and nothing's shown up yet.

I'll wait till next week before doing a charge back.

Again, very doubtful of its claimed 600 lumen brightness. If you read Cree's data sheet on XPE-Q5 bulb:
    http://www.cree.com/~/media/Files/Cree/LED%20Components%20an…
    it says only 107 lumens.
Too many of these Chinese LED torch manufacturers exaggerate their products :/

    • That's 107 lm at 350mA.
These torches usually boost the wattage, at 1000mA you can get 250lm out of the Q5.

      • +5

250 lumens - in the lab, with a chilled heatsink (25C at the junction), and neglecting losses from the poor optics (especially in the zoom models - no proper reflector).
1A would mean 4A from the AA battery.

Real world: 50-100 lumens from these, with a good, freshly charged NiMH.

        • agreed 100%. It might do a little better with a 14500 cell, assuming it takes them.

    • The one that came from GB that did work was nowhere near as bright as my Sipik SK68 - Maybe 40-50%. I have quite the collection of SK68's now and they all work great. All other Chinese flashlights I have purchased have had some issue surface very quickly. Those ripper little Sipiks just keep going!

    • may be it is 600 chumens (chinese Lumens)?

    • +1

I agree, I have (touch wood) never had a problem with this style and the output is great for the price! ~10 bought so far.

  • +2

I got mine from last deal and its DOA (first purchase from this site!). Dont wanna bother raising RMA as its probably not worth the trouble and stress. Just need to remember not to get anything from them again. Sigh.

Office works is giving much cheaper..

    • giving what ???

      • Offcourse Flash light.. what else is this page for ?

        • I was not aware that OW are giving away flash lights.

what else is this page for ?

          which page ?

        • +4

OW seem to sell torchers, but I can't find any being give away.

There are some LED ones for $2.99, but they are NOT CREE

        • -1

          @jv:

          What is a "torcher"?

And in what section of OW will I find one?

        • @jackspratt:

          What is a "torcher"?

          A person who torches.

  • These are awesome

around $14, 2000mah built in rechargeable battery. Great build quality too.

      I don't acree

      • why?

        • +1

I think paulaus doesn't agree with with its claimed awesome 1000 lumen brightness :P

You want to see what a real 1000 lumen torch looks like, check out Thrunite TN4A:

I received mine (in neutral white version) yesterday and, my goodness, its 1050 lumens just lights up my whole backyard last night O.o

          @edfoo:
I think he meant he doesn't aCree lol

        • +1

          @nocure:
yes I was being sarcastic as this was led not acree.

  • i have this torch from a previous deal and works great, used it for long periods while installing flooring under the stairs
very bright for what i needed

  • The regular shape cree flash light is superior to these, on my phone so I can't link but it's the one 99% of OB'ers (who own a cree) own. They cost a bit more but you get quality. I own 11 and none have failed. 1 was dropped in toilet by a toddler and found later still on, still alive.

  • Same as this guy? https://www.allbuy.com/detail/99256. Cheaper still.

I bought a couple the other day for the kids (no, really). Fingers crossed they're not DOA.

  • I have a total of 25 of similar flashlights bought from deals here and I must be very lucky because all work.

15 are single mode and the others I recently bought are 3 mode. I don't mind 2 levels of brightness but I wish they'd get rid of the strobe function - it's useless.

At this brightness they chew batteries like no one's business so would recommend you get rechargeable 14500s and decent chargers if you're planning on anything other than occasional use. Being 3.7v they 14500 gives you max brightness too.

  • I have received 4 (2 silver 2 black ) from last deal, they look very good quality and all work straight out of box, although it took 2-3weeks to be delivered but for that price, nothing to complain about.
