You broke the first rule of Flight Club.

  • Previously deleted for Sockpuppeting…. That couldnt of been a good start.

Yes it was our first foray into OzBargain and a staff member inadvertently upvoted the deal, so we learnt that lesson the hard way.

      • +3

Not as expensive as your other lessons!

Flights to Chile have really come down in price!

Doesn't say who the fare is with but it's not really a bargain - can be had cheaper elsewhere.

eg. SYD-SCL 11/07-27/07 $996 flying LAN with Direct flights or $1028 with QANTAS at STA Travel.

And you have time to think before you dive in and buy it :)

There's around 11 million reasons they are best avoided it appears.

      • LAN or Flight Centre are we talking about here?

Once upon a time on my very first overseas excursion alone I booked with Flight Centre and it all went smooth enough but don't think I'd bother with it these days. Of course if you'd rather Flight Centre than Direct Flights then you can always just get Flight Centre to price beat it…

EDIT: Just read about the $11 million fine… And fair enough too!

You're 100%, the flight prices have come down quite a lot, it's definitely a great time to be looking at South America flights. Don't forget we also have the Flight Centre Lowest Airfare Guarantee - we will beat any airfare quote or you fly free.

      • +3

How many free flights have you given away in the history of your business?

        • +2

The beat the fare by $1 not give it to you for free…

Once upon a time they also gave you a $20 voucher as well.

        • +2

@zappy_32: yep, they have beaten my quote by $1 and (from my perception) gave me attitude about it

    • I think this is more an issue with the time you're going. It's the middle of winter over there and most holiday destinations/attractions are closed.

      • +1

Not really. I'm originally from Chile and I can tell you, there is always something going on. Right now we are in the middle of ski season. The north of the country have beautiful arid landscapes that you can enjoy more in winter than summer (because of the high temperatures in summer). If you are going to Santiago, the landscape (including the background of the Andes Mountains) is gourgeous because of the snow and the skies clear of any smog after it rains.

I would recommend you to look up:
        - Laguna San Rafael
        - San Pedro de Atacama
        - Valle de la luna
        - Valle Nevado

There is a lot more, but that will get you started for a great visit in winter time!!!

        • did you watch the game?

        • @bniko:

Yup. Got a Fetch TV and BeIn Sports specially for the occasion :)

We need to play better, though. The way we played today, I don't think we can beat Argentina or Brazil for the cup.

  • Forget that, I WANT A DEAL to Europe, my preference is Italy

Air India have a ~$1100 deal, BUT 23Hr. layover on India :-(

    • +1

The KLM deal posted recently is great value! Or post your dates and locations in the travel forum and see what people can find.

      • Thanks will do!

        Cheers

  • What was the special deal here?

The expiry time has passed and prices are still the same … as they are on Qantas site and elsewhere. As noted by zappy_32 there are other deals around (and some cheaper). So please explain ….. how was this deal better than what I can still buy outside your special "rush in now" window?
