    price?

The forest is $10.04 USD 33% off
This war of mine is $7.99 usd 60% off

    • Thanks, prices didn't update straight away.

  • +2

Mount and Blade: Warband is 80% off, USD $3.99.

Such a great game, mod makes the game so much better though. :)

    • Thanks, everything is updated now. I agree, underrated too!

      • I think there are few games that I've poured over 100 hours in and still can go play 100 hours more. Warband has to be one of them.
Though, hmmm, other than Starbound, not much for me, I guess… Either I own them or not the game that I tend to play…

I've seen better price on Wasteland 2, though at that price, it's alright. I cannot recommend it without hesitations though. Frankly prefered Fallout 2, the game mechanics need more tweaking and the game feel very rushed (especially towards the end). I guess I am being unfair, especially since I've used mods on Fallout 2.

        • I don't even think Starbound should be on the list to be honest. It went without updates for well over a year with no word from the developers. Shady stuff.

I've never been interested in Wasteland, felt it was trying to be too similar to Fallout 2 like yourself. Maybe it's those rose tinted glasses because FO2 had issues as well.

        • @kaneissik: Maybe, though, I've played Fallout 2 very recently (Last year? This year?). English is not my first language, so I've got on the bandwagon fairly late. Two games feel different, one of the major difference being the number of characters you control, atmosphere, the role you play, etc. It's just that I've felt like Fallout 2 had more going for it than Wasteland 2.

So Starbound had no update for a year? Sigh, yet another early access game gone bad.

        • @AznMitch:
Sorry, should have mentioned: they did update it recently but the game did go on for about a year with no update. They kept saying something big was coming but a year for an update that didn't fix the game much…? It was fun initially but I regret buying it.

        • @kaneissik: The game looked so promising :( Oh well.

        • @AznMitch:
Not to worry, next Terraria update out soon :)

        • +3

Wasteland 2 will be heavily updated soon, update the engine, new models with textures, rebalanced game mechanics, and more voice acting.

So get it now cheap, wait till update to play?

        • +1

@FabMan: They really really should. The game has a lot of potential, the game mechanics and contents need more work done, far more work done.

Though, I've seen it cheaper/at same price from other vendors like humble bundle store, gaming dragon etc. It's not the cheapest price I've seen so far.

        • It was around $13.50 on Gog, and will be again we the encore comes around (Thursday?). No achievements though, but one third cheaper.

        • @Thaal Sinestro:

          Dang, that's cheap

    • Floris seems to be the best mod to start with. It is about 1.2 GB is size for the full version though Mount and Blade takes a lot longer to start (the game seem to load all of the assets at startup rather than dynamically as needed).

      http://www.nexusmods.com/mbwarband/mods/3489/?

You can use the Steam Key code to activate a copy of Mount and Blade downloaded from TaleWorlds. https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Warband/Download

      • I think I played Floris and Diplomacy mod (both mods are very good for what they do).

  • +3

Lego Worlds is US$14.99 regular price, so not part of the Steam sale, and technically not a bargain according to the rules. Great game though.

  • Picked up Nidhogg :) Wanted to get it for local coop for a long time.

  • +2

Not advertised but all the LOTRO expansions are 75% off at the moment too. here

    • Do you get codes that you can redeem on Turbine's site?

The Rift MMO also has 75% off some packages. Are they worth getting?

      • Yes you get the codes to put into turbine. I got the steely dawn starter pack and quad pack for $15USD.

  • Wondering if I should get Wolfenstein Old Blood now or if it will get cheaper (eg. flash sales, etc.)

    • +1

ah stuff it. Got the game. Thanks OP! I didn't even realise the sale was on LOL

    • +1

Hold off unless it's a flash, daily or community choice sale. I think they do an encore on the last day as well.

Check www.isthereanydeal.com to see if it's cheaper on other sites.

    • Old Blood is already a daily sale - it won't get cheaper (at least not on the steam summer sales). Perhaps wait for Amazon to see if they run sales - often they do newer games for cheaper than steam.

      • Flash sales can be cheaper than daily sales I thought…

        • Flash sales can be cheaper than daily sales I thought…

Never seen Flash be cheaper than Daily deals. Got an example by any chance?

        • @Dagmar:

Nope, might not be. I thought it was a case to wait for Flash Sales as the best option?

        • @FabMan:

Damn, I've only just woken up, can't think properly. Think it's the other way around… someone please correct/confirm haha.

        • @Dagmar:
Appears to be the same price!

Each steam sale has four different types of discounts going on at the same time:

The broad, store-wide discount that any game not released in the past six months gets. This discount is usually anywhere between 25% to 75%.
Daily deals, where selected games are on sale for 24-48 hours. These discounts are generally a bit steeper, but still in the 50-75% range. These are the deals you get to sleep on if you want to.
Flash sales, where selected games are on sale for 12-14 hours. These are the ones you may have thought were daily deals and wound up missing. Sucks, doesn’t it? Discount levels are the same, but the clock runs out faster.
Community deals, where Steam users vote for one of three games to get a discount. These deals last about a day, and you can weigh in on which one you want. The result is up to the community, but it’s usually the biggest title or the steepest discount that wins.

  • The sale prices are disgusting. Usually cd key stores cannot compete with Steam sales, but going through their supposed daily 'deals', discounts aren't too good. Just an example: Lego Jurassic World is $30USD when OzGameShop is selling it for $23AUD and I can sell it for around that price too, maybe even cheaper after bulk discounts from my supplier. Pretty bad deals from Steam so far.

Hint: Don't buy new release games (directly) on Steam.

Unless you shop in the Russian region, in which case it's $10.48 - http://i.imgur.com/8PHsgoV.png

Victor Vran & Rogue Legacy for me today!

  • Definitely check out Starbound, it's such a fun game. The music is amazing too! I know some might complain that it's 2D but it really doesn't feel like it.

  • +1

I would definitely recommend Valiant hearts (on flash sale atm), and may want to check out child of light as well.

  • +1

I'm going to put this one on here… Shadowrun Returns for $2.99 USD… excellent game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/234650/

  • +1

Witcher 2 is a bargain for $2.99….ill play that untill i can get a new graphics card for witcher 3, by then that will be on sale for an actual sale price.

    • Gog had it for 75 cents BTW; that's a bargain.

      • The Witcher 2 has never been $0.75.

        • It was using the Ukraine Vpn during the summer sale. I ended up buying both versions anyway, gog version offers lots more dlc.

Plus it was priced at $0.99 for quite a while before the sale which was when I bought it

  • thanks :)

  • witcher 2 has issues with steam if it is still on special at GOG get that one
Own it but cannot play it due to said issues.

Looks like http://www.gog.com/witcher/backup makes it no different buying from steam than GOG. Makes the above rather redundant.
