Press Start have confirmed Target will be selling for $69 on release day. Based on my personal experience with Donkey Kong Bananza, Amazon are likely to price match, however it may be too late to meet the pre order price guarantee as Target's price begins only on release day.

Was keen on this, disappointed when it wasn't included as a Game Voucher game (thought not massively surprised). I'd never played either of them…until about a week ago when I happened upon a free copy of 3D All-Stars.
Now I'm on the fence bc I won't replay Galaxy 1, but I double won't pay 60 for Galaxy 2 digital on it's own. But people also say 2 is better than 1 so I'd like to check it out.
What's a boy to do?
For what it's worth I have 3D All Stars as well, and am still going to grab this one as physical over the pricey digital Galaxy-2-only option. I don't think either option will be discounted much at all in the next couple of years. Even with 20% off Nintendo cards at Coles, $48 for Galaxy 2 digital seemed poor value to getting the combo physically for another twenty bucks, especially given resale value etc.
Is the version of SMG1 the same as the 3d all stars version?
There's supposedly visual upgrades on this new one, but they seem barely perceptible.

Have you ever played Galaxy 2?
It's a game that still holds up extremely well, and if Nintendo released Galaxy 2 today, I would be more than happy to pay $60 for it. If you've not played it, I would say it's genuinely worth it.
Personally, I still think Galaxy 2 is the best Mario game of all time. It perfected the balance between a sandbox "exploring focused" game and a more traditional linear platformer. The levels are artistic and feel hand-crafted, and it very much feels like a puzzle of trying to figure out what the designer intended. The orchestral soundtrack (along with Galaxy) is amazing and complements the game well.
I also prefer the mechanics of Galaxy / Galaxy 2, which feel more like a true platformer. For me, SM64 is nostalgic, but the controls and camera don't stack up well today, Sunshine is just strange and a bit of a drag, and Odyssey was fun, but felt a bit gimmicky. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 was really adventure platforming at its finest.
Yeah agree, I kinda felt Odyssey was overrated
$59 with Target $10 voucher.
I'm guessing excluding WA again?
Is there a Switch 2 Physical or is it just Switch 1?
Switch 1 physical with upgrade for Switch 2 digital
Ok thanks, so basically picking this up then there's a free or paid upgrade I guess if you're using it in a Switch 2
To be clear, playing this on a switch 2 will make it run at 4k rather than the 1080p on original switch
There is no Switch 2 edition, this is not a Switch 2 game. It's a Switch game that will have a 4K update for Switch 2.
Target for the win every time with these new switch/switch 2 games
