Just wondering what are ozbargainers' opinion about back to base alarm? How much it cost and any company reliable?
I live in not so safe suburb. When we moved in, there's ADT alarm system installed already (I reckon about 15 years). I called ADT, they will charge me $165 to come and check, plus repair and reactivate cost.
Any opinion?

What are they promising to do if the alarm triggers? Most of these companies only ring the owner - they don't send their own guards or call police. You might as well just get an alarm that dials you directly or sends you an SMS.
And either way, if you're at work, or out on the town, are you going to be able to get back home in time to be any use?
