That site only gives $40 off regardles of how many you buy. To2c works mutliple times i.e. buy 2 units and save $80. The elephone site only gives $40 off for 2 units.

Plus using the coupon code above saves extra steps.

Plus you pay shipping minimum of USD$12.75 for regular post.

Great specs and price but buyers beware this phone does not support 3G 850MHZ = No love for Aldi/Boost/Telechoice/Telstra/Vodaphone users

The Elephone website states the following specs:

    Networks A:
    FDD-LTE:band 3/7/20 (800/1800/2600)
    WCDMA:band 1/8(900/2100)
    GSM:band 3/5/8 (850/900/1800)

    Networks B:
    TDD-LTE:band 41 (2500) Coming soon
    FDD-LTE:band 2/4/7/17(700/1700/1900/2600) Coming soon
    WCDMA:band 2/4/5(850/1700/1900) Coming soon
    GSM:band 2/5/8(850/900/1900) Coming soon

    • Yes, and 4G bands are also more limited than the P7000. The upside is that it has a bigger battery, fast charging and slimmer body.

FYI, the official website is Elephone.hk

    • Good for Optus, exetel, amaysim and all the others that are optus networks.

    • +1

Noo.. I want this phone, but am on TeleChoice.

    • Anyone knows when would be "Network B" released?

    • Correct me if i'm wrong but the phone supports all frequencies for Vodafone. 2 of the 3 for 3G and 1 of the 2 for 4G are supported (see below). I understand that the lower frequencies (e.g. 850MHz and the upcoming 700MHz) penetrate better but the other frequencies are still supported.

      Elephone P8000 supported frequencies
      2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
      3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
      4G: FDD LTE: 800/1800/2600MHz

      Vodafone use:
      2G: GSM 900/1800MHz
      3G: WCDMA 850/900/2100MHz
      4G: FDD LTE: 850 (planned)/1800

  • Look very interesting… cant find a bunch of info on my friend google though. What do we know?

  • no 3G 850mhz = no good for Telstra

  • If that was dual SIM I'd be all over it as my travel phone.

    • +2

You're in luck! From the deal link and the Elephone website,

      SIM CARD
Dual SIM (Dual sim card Dual stand-by)

It's just not advertised well, nor does the post do it much justice as its also 4G.

      • Well then, looks like I got me a new travel phone. Thanks for the info I thought I'd looked everywhere but clearly just missed it.

      • 99% sure the second SIM slot will be 2G only. But if its only for making calls then that's all good I suppose

  • new to android systems so probably a dumb question but google hasn't helped. 16gb rom… can you store apps on it, or is it solely for custom roms?

    • +1

Think of it as storage on your PC. Its what you store stuff on. You can add extra storage with a memory card.

      • -8

Uhhhhhh no. Your ram gets wiped when you power off. Think of it as the ROM on your pc. Which is what it is.

    • +1

Its rom like any other phones rom, or your pc's hard drive, you can store anything you like on it.

  • You should check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meIymm6gnUw, guy says the Elephone P7000 isn't very good, watch his teardown of the phone. Lackluster camera quality and a few other flaws. Would be weary purchasing an Elephone.

  • Think twice (or more) before buying an Elephone.
    I've owned a P2000 and wasn't impressed at all…despite the decent specs…
Here's what Andy from GizChina has to say about their current flagship, the P7000:

friend at work has an Elephone P6i. she bought it 18 months ago. really smooth phone for a MTK quad core.

      • Maybe she drives a Chery as well? ;)

    • +1

Bought my dad a P6000. Great phone. P7000 sucks though as noted. For 30 USD more (or 10 less if I'd probably get a Zeaplus M7 instead, slightly smaller battery, but the MT6752 has a slightly faster CPU and GPU and you get UMTS 850Mhz for Telstra

  • Just got one cant wait til I get the unit looks great, maybe betta than flagship phone

  • This guy has some decent reviews on chinese phones, plenty of videos to view on the P7000

  • keep getting, Coupon code "TO2C14BXEVP5" is not valid

    is code expire already?

    Good luck with MTK processor

    • Nothing wrong with MTK processors. They're cheaper and phones using them bench consistently higher, or very competitively compared to their mainstream equivalents. Only problem I an think of was GPS back in the MT6589 and earlier days. And at least a lot of Mediatek phones are coming out with near stock Lollipop from factory

      • Can confirm. Don't get MTK6589 or 6582. The GPS is bloody hopeless.

    try this TO2C1MHEAGRC

    • Thanks, I added it to the coupon code section too.

  • Wasnt the P7000 meant to be the next best thing? Why release the P8000 so soon after the P7000 ?

    • Similar but with the newer Samsung cameras and big battery seem to be elephones new thing.

      • Seems there's an even newer, next best thing coming out from them this week too
        http://www.elephone.cc/elephone-vowney.html

        Thoughts?

        • 8MP front camera 20.7 rear
          4GB ram.
          Not bad any promo code?

        • Lovely specs but at almost twice the price I'll pass.

        • @ShipShapeRC: $299 now but only if you accept an even more imaginative/hopeful shipping date than the P8000. Maybe they do a new model every 60 days…

  • code doesn't work anymore?

  • TO2C has some unfavourable reviews.
However, the $40 off is available at all of the chinese stores that sell them I think (Geekbuying have been sending me emails about it)

  • Thanks I got one from Gearbest

    • How much and p8000 or P7000

      • +1

I got it for US $169.95
        P8000
I have good experience with gearbest. Few packages arrived on time, I mean like 2-3weeks for free shipping.
I have no problems with gearbest.

    • I've heard bad things about gearbest (and personal experience too), and panda will and err hang on you can find something bad about every chinese online store if you look for it.

      • where would u recommend i buy elephones from?

        • +1

          You can try antelife.com
I purchased phones from them, without any problems.

They currently have the promo :

          Coupon Code : ELEP8000

This Coupon can be applied to the three different packages of P8000
          http://www.antelife.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Elephone+P80…

        • @simonizmaster:

thanks a lot, well atleast this one has some decent reviews
what did u buy from them btw?

        • @jay0514: I purchased 6 UMI hammer from them.

  • They claim to have pre-sold 5,000 already.

    Has anyone received one yet?

I got confirmation of mine being shipped from Shanghai on the 2nd July.

Shanghai exchange bureau, has been exported to be opened
     2015-07-02 14:01
Shanghai exchange bureau, has been exported straight seal
     2015-07-04 00:56
     Shanghai Pudong, leaving TAC Air
     2015-07-04 17:34

I asked geekbuying why it is not here yet, and why it was not shipped via DHL as I requested expedited 4-5 day shipping. They said it comes via HK in order for the accessories to be added to the package as they are not in the Shenzhen warehouse. Strange as the confirmations all show Shanghai. They allowed for shipping delays as they only promised to ship via the 20th July. If yo buy one now they claim 7-10 days before they can ship.

Obviously they are allowing for time to manage internal postage, however it is very strange.

Still waiting for it to arrive. Who will be the first to get one I wonder?

  • Had a look over at Gearbest.com, they are claiming all sorts of shipping times too, however also say there has been a manufacturer delay and it will be July 31 before they ship… Eeek! Perhaps committing to one of these was a bad idea, ;-)

  • Put my order through Pandawill instead on 4th July. To2c saying shipping commences on the 20th July, Pandawill still saying 15th July.
