Help Me Buy a Car Battery - Honda Accord 2010

Help Me Buy a Car Battery - Honda Accord 2010.

I am thinking of Exide batteries.

Where can I get it cheaper?

Any other brands?

I just use RACV (with 10% member discount) - they simply come out and swap it over.
Only had one go bad after about a year - they came out, tested it, replaced it.

    • Same here (NRMA); for the infrequency of need for the service & miniscule difference in price, it's well worth paying them to do it all for you!

  • Changing a car battery is stupid simple. (especially on a Japanese car)

On par with changing a light bulb in your house - no need to pay someone to "do it all for you"! lol

I found my last battery on Gumtree from a dedicated Battery Shop. Brand new, it was a GS Yuasa (Made in Japan) cost $70. Repco / Supercheap wanted $250 for a cheapo "equivalent"! (It was for a Mercedes)

That's a great buy. It's a great brand and oem for Mitsubishi evos

    • Just FYI, yes it's about being an informed consumer, but there's being thrifty, and there's also being stubbornly tightfisted…just assuming that any service is automatically not good value without checking first is just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

My last battery was $119 delivered & fitted by NRMA; I couldn't get it any cheaper than ~$110 anywhere, so to have it all done for me at home without the running around to source a new one; AND with the old battery disposed of; on a cold, wet night without having to do anything harder than make a single phone call for a measly extra $9, was nine bucks bloody well spent IMHO…YM (and the value you place on your own time) MV however.

  • @Son ofa Zombie, do you remember the seller?

    • Seemed like a small local single store (maybe not?) in Brisbane… hmmm… Should still have the receipt. I'll try to remember next time i'm in my car.

  • Buy the "supercharge" brand. Great reliability and Australian made. Mines been going for 6 years and bought another 2for different cars and that's been 4 years and still going strong. Autobahn stocks them.

    • +1 for supercharge.you can buy them direct from there office…128 Gardens Dr, Willawong QLD 4110..Melbourne office 425 Macaulay Rd North Melbourne.

  • I'm told by people in the car parts and repair industries that Century is one of the better brands, and that Exide is one of the "cheaper" brands.

Still, I'm guessing that some people will have had bad experiences with Century, and others will have had exceptional experiences with Exide.

  • bought bosch brand from costco

    • How much did it cost from Costco?

      • around $110 for honda civic while similar battery cost bit more expensive for other brands outside costco.

  • Would prefer century, very easy to fit on an accord euro, I think most places do it for free if you buy it from them anyway.

From memory the entertainment system will reset, you should have the unlock code in your user manuals.

  • piss easy on accord. did it a few months ago. bought a century when supercheap had 20 percent off.

  • Visit an independent battery retailer like every battery or r&j batteries. They usually will give you a much better price than an auto store or an auto 'club'
