Need an Ergonomic Office Chair

Hi All

Im looking for an adjustable ergonomic office chair
Preferably mesh type

but dont want to pay through the nose for a herman miller

Are there any good alternate brands or no name knockoffs?

Or any good second hand dealers around?

budget is over $250

I saw the Egonomic 2020 and ergoflex chairs from milandirect but not sure if theyre just knockoffs, because the prices arent knockoff prices!
Also the ergohuman seems to be a recognisable brand

but all 3 are similar in price. i dont know what to believe anymore

Thanks

I was just poking around on Amazon, and this seems to be the #1 Best Seller based off customer feedback.

Perhaps have a look down the list of top rated chairs on Amazon and see what Australian suppliers/prices you might be able to come by?

  • I wouldn't normally say this; but Office Works currently have their knockoff of the Aeron, and Ikeas range is actually surprisingly comfy.

    • which one is that?

      • Dont recall; but the rapidline series and the Matrix chair are both pretty comphy.

I just had to go IKEA because i got sick of wheels breakling and 10 year warranty is a winner for me.

        • which ikea chair did you get? how is the foam?

        • @furythree:

          Sorry for the late reply.

          I got a Markus
          http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/20261143/#/502611…

The foam is quite firm, to say this is the sort of chair that you sit in and say "wow this is comfy!" would be lying.
But I spend upwards of 6 hours a day in that chair. Ive never had a sore\numb bum, I've never felt it uncomfortable, the fact that I can lock in any tilt is priceless, and the height adjustment is spot on.

I'm sure theres much more plush chairs if you're looking to lounge around in it, but for a comphy office chair, this took the cake.

  • Way over your budget but thought I should put it out there.
I invested in a Aeron from Herman Miller which costs an arm and leg.
However it comes with 12 yr warranty and is the most confy ergonomic chair I have come across.

    good luck!

Thats why I spent my $300 at Ikea, 10 year warranty.

      • Fair Enough and good for you.
IMO my money is well spent.

        • I would very much agree. There's no competing with an Aeron!

    • errr he said he didn't want a herman miller.
so why would you suggest a herman miller

      • OP didn't say he didn't want a herman miller

but dont want to pay through the nose for a herman miller

ilsan was suggesting a herman miller which costs an arm and leg.

(Although I'm not sure if paying through the nose is more or less than an arm and a leg.)

  • I believe Costco has the Herman Miller chairs every so often at a much better price.

  • Buy a used Herman Miller maybe? They go for around your budget.

  • Don't buy anything without trying it first.

My TruSit is the most comfortable chair I've ever used.
