Review posted on newegg - Very slow speed: 7MB/sec at best. Turns out the USB3 on it means the device supports USB3, but does not necessarily run at USB3 speeds!! It is all a marketing gimmick.

    • Thanks, still cheaper than other sellers, got 4/5 eggs on newegg and 5 years Limited Warranty period (parts+labour): 5 years :)

  • Good price but bad reviews on Amazon

  • how do speeds of "USB 3.0" compare to the various microSDs etc at all the pro speeds ?

  • +1

    USB 3.0 is certainly superior.
Class 10 sdcard have their bandwidth in USB 2.0 limits.
So yeah overall USB is the winner.

    • great! THANKS BOUGHT ONE!

    • This logic isn't overally correct.
Interface/bus speed is never a number to go by. On SD cards it's a bit better as it's fixed classing based on speed, where as USB is simply an interface version.

It's stated in an above comment these USBs benchmark at 7MB/s.. Class 10 is ~10MB/s. On top of this, the recent deals have been UHS-1 which achieve upwards of the 30MB/s mark at times.

      tl;Dr:
"USB 3.0" means it supports USB 3.0; not it's faster than 2.0.

  • Thanks BH,

May not be the "speediest"— but fine for my uses!

    Cheers :)

  • has anyone noticed their paypal account looks like it charges the Pre 20% discount cost???

    • I bought yesterday and it charged me post 20% discount for sure. I have just double checked.

  • Some reviews on Amazon suggest this is a bit faster than 7MB/s writes and reads ranging from 30-56MB/s

However others found writes indeed stay around 7MB/s, it seems this can vary a little from stick to stick (different batches I guess)
