This is $30, and you can pick it up at your local Masters

    • probably has better warranty compared to DealsDirect…

    • It's sold out.

      • Shows up for me as "In Stock"

        • Thanks, will check again!

  • Description(copy/paste?) is misleading IMHO.
There might be no electrical noise but there certainly is mechanical noise from fan and louver motor. These things are not silent for sure!

    • I am not familiar with dealsdirect adverts, however there is terrible grammar and misleading claims.

      • No installation required.
      • Hang in the wall and just plug in.

Surely hanging or mounting something on a wall is considered installation.

    • Also misleading to claim it is energy efficient - it's not. for 1000W in you will get 1000W of heat output just as you will from any other 1000W heater. How and where you blow it with a fan makes little (or no) difference.

      "high watt density" - jargon.

  • If you create a new account, you can use the code "WELCOME10%" to get it down to $42.90 delivered to Sydney (2000).

With a heater, the upfront cost has to be weighed up against the usage costs.

  • Does it have a fan?

I love the way heaters are always described as "efficient". It's a deliberate misunderstanding of what "efficient" actually means.

With a light bulb or an electric motor, they are supposed to produce light and motion respectively. Any inefficiency means some of the energy produces something else, which is usually heat.

In a heater, what form is the wasted energy going to take? Heat? The only POSSIBLE form of inefficiency for a conventional electric heater is light, and they produce very little of that, so they are "efficient" by definition.

But compare them to a reverse-cycle air conditioner, which typically uses one-third of the electricity to produce the same amount of heat, and you won't think this type of electric heater is very 'efficient' at all.

Yes, reverse-cycle air conditioners are more expensive to purchase and install. But they will usually pay themselves off in only a few years, in the form of reduced electricity bills. I believe there are several good calculators online that will tell you roughly how much you will save on your electricity bill, I recommend you do the sums before purchasing one of these heaters.

    • I was about to say something about the "efficiency" of this heater, and your reply sums it all.
