  • Enter your postcode to get postage quote
  • Select Free Shipping (first option in list)
  • Update total then Proceed to Checkout

are apple users really that naive? -_-

      • No, but MAC is!

  • +3

Argh, that will teach me to think I'm getting a good deal at a certain seller with ebays 20% off and paying a whopping $34 for the same item…

  • Is this class 10? Might use this on my go pro :)

    • I have been using one on my Sony Action Cam AS100V with no issues….I can't see a problem with it in a GoPro…except maybe if you are using 4K recording

      • -1

4k recording on the GoPro even with the protune codec doesn't come close to filling the bandwidth these cards can write at.

        http://gopro.com/support/articles/hero4-black-recording-time…

        • A number of users have error trying to record 4K video on their GoPro 4 black with either Samsung EVO or Sandisk Ultra resulting with error due to slow writing speed despite what you think.

        • -2

          @edfoo:

Despite what I think? Do you mean the raw numbers of the 6MB/s needed for 4k 30fps with protune vs the 48MB/s that this card can reach?

          Oh, please.

        • @c0balt: Yes please, go google on GoPro users experience.
That's why GoPro recommends at least Sandisk Extreme or faster (or equivalent Samsung Pro) cards if you want to record 4K, more so with ProTune on.
Users always recommend get the fastest cards you can for that purpose, never cheap out on memory cards.

        • -4

          @edfoo:

Post a link to salvage some credibility or GTFO with your incorrect advice.

        • -2

@c0balt: Read the users' comments on Sandisk Ultra and Samsung EVO: http://havecamerawilltravel.com/photographer/gopro-4-memory-…
          then you can GTFO yourself.

        • +1

          @edfoo:

So the article and all but one comment say how great the Samsung cards are with the gopro 4k recording but one only a single person buried deep in the comments section says there's a problem with all cards (to which the author reply is check your camera, not your cards), and you go on to tell people that this card can cause problems?

          What is your problem dude?

Stop giving horrible advice. Stop downvoting me for being correct. The fact is that this card works great for anything the GoPro can throw at it and you are being a petulant child for trying to posture the way you are.

        • @c0balt: My advice is good, best to get faster cards for fussy GoPro, especially you want 4K with ProTune.
Go "enjoy" your 4K recording on GoPro with this EVO or Ultra card then, don't come back crying if you get error recording.

        • @c0balt: Niggle: 8 bits to a byte. 60 Mb/s = 7.5 MB/s :)

        • @edfoo:

Your 'advice' is that 6MB/s is more than 48MB/s and your source is a joke. You said a number of users are having a problem and you can't even find one real source. Infact your source has everyone but 1 person saying how great the Samsung cards are at 4k recording.

          Thanks for the laugh.

        • @c0balt: Another niggle: the 48 MB/s is a supposed maximum read speed. Various online tests show this card has sequential write speeds around 12-23 MB/s.

Then you've also got the camera's memory controller and buffer that can further impact sustainable write speeds.

As for the people complaining about card compatibility with GoPros, with the amount of fake cards out there, who knows if they are actually trying genuine cards.

        • Why is this guy getting negged, seems like one of the most useful/helpful comments in the entire thread?

        • @dewy:

There is a anecdotal evidence to suggest that GoPro's are fussy and demand faster cards than the Class 10. The math may work out in favour of the Samsung EVO but the official reccomendations ask for faster

          https://gopro.com/support/articles/software-update-release

    • It's better than class 10.
      Gopro would be fine.

  • OMFG site is soooooooo slooooooooooow.

    • Yep, server issues. See comments above from Francesca. Being worked on as we speak.

  • Thanks TA. :)

  • Anyone having any luck? Still broken for me but I see others have been able to order quite recently so I do not know.

    • For what it's worth, I just tested it. Took me 20 seconds on each of the 4 screens through to checkout, but I got there. Hopefully PC Byte can fix this soon.

  • +2

6th attempt through checkout. How much do I want this?

    • Now it is just about principle to me. Like Sun Tzu's Art of War. I need it. I need to win this battle with the server. I've given up my night's viewing of entertainment and it wont all be for nothing. mwhahaaha.
Seriously TA…this kind of a result with servers failing and so on is more testimony to the exceptional deals you offer us..day in, day out. Francesca..it is also testimony to the awesome deals you offer the ozbargain community. Thank you both for all that you do.
This is temporary. Our support to you TA is everlasting and Francesca I could not be more grateful for the exceptional deals you've brought to the table in recent times.
      Thank you.

    • Same. I've given up… it just keeps timing out.

Forgot to post benchmarks as there is always some interest in performance of these little orange treats

Using USB3 reader, 50mb sample file, Windows 7…

    Sequential Read : 44.225 MB/s
    Sequential Write : 27.587 MB/s
    Random Read 512KB : 43.409 MB/s
    Random Write 512KB : 37.510 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 10.525 MB/s [ 2569.5 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 4.754 MB/s [ 1160.8 IOPS]
    Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 10.761 MB/s [ 2627.3 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 4.715 MB/s [ 1151.1 IOPS]

    • QD > 1 makes no difference. I think card does not allow any parallel read/write!

      • +2

The card is faster than the server.

    • +1

You should use a bigger file than 50MB because some flash memory has a burst of speed in the first second or two before going to usual speeds.

      • Good Point —- Guess in my rush I usually choose the smallest write size to get the test over and done with …

Next time I'll make the test file size a tad bigger just to be on the safe side.

      • +1

As suggested I re-scanned a 64gb samsung evo using a test file double the size…

        Sequential Read : 44.138 MB/s
        Sequential Write : 32.696 MB/s
        Random Read 512KB : 43.344 MB/s
        Random Write 512KB : 36.682 MB/s
        Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 10.618 MB/s [ 2592.2 IOPS]
        Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 4.723 MB/s [ 1153.0 IOPS]
        Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 10.868 MB/s [ 2653.4 IOPS]
        Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 4.683 MB/s [ 1143.3 IOPS]

        Test : 100 MB [I: 3.4% (2.0/59.6 GB)] (x1)
        Date : 2015/07/02 19:47:48

        • Thanks for testing!
33MB/s is excellent for sequential write for medium duty usage.

    • WTF?
Why the Sequential Write is slower than the 512KB write?

      • Welcome to the world of Flash!

  • unable to add to cart ?

  • So the only device which I own that can take this microSD (using the SD adapter) is my laptop, is there any reason I need to get this card? Any recommendations for future uses?

    • your next android.

    • +1

Buy it in future for your future android. That's what I did.

  • +2

Looking forward to see magic happens on any of these cards that fit gopro 4.

  • +1

    • If you are using adblocker you may need to disable it for their website. Same happened to me and solve it by disabling the ad blocker.

      • I had no problem with uBlock Origin enabled.

        • Im using adblock plus with chrome and always faced problem while log in and add in cart.

  • Any chance of getting a micro SD to full SD adapter included?

  • Got through on the iPad. TAnx.

  • +1

I'm tapping out. Over an hour of trying and I can't get through checkout.
I've +'d it but I'll wait until I can actually buy before I do that next time.

Nice deal for those who got the server to actually talk to them.

    • Buy this.

Hi guys. Just had a good chat with Francesca. She still has no idea what is causing the sluggishness of her site. Apparently, they had a server upgrade over the weekend which may or may not be the issue. They don't want to do a reboot just yet as the system may not recover and she doesn't want to risk losing any orders, which are clearly getting through, but at a reduced rate. Please keep trying, especially as the traffic slowly dies down. Also, I made her promise another great deal some time next week as a small way of making up for tonight. All the best :)

    • Thank you TA =)

        Next coupon code: OzBServerTest

      • Your "IT guy" needs to go back and do some corrective performance tuning on the front and back end to meet your business needs.

Or get someone like Brendan Gregg - http://www.brendangregg.com/

    • +1

I think the site uses Magento, which can slow to a sluggish pace if not enough resources or certain plugins are not being kind to it.

Nevertheless, I too am trying my best to grab a tight evo :)

  • +1

I've been trying for a while now, across different browsers and devices, don't think I'll be getting through. Seems to be when selecting the free shipping option that it fails to continue to load (spinning loading symbol of doom).

    • +1

in case it helps my experience is IDENTICAL to what Khazidhea is stating.

      • +1

        can't even add to cart

      • Should have use samsung pro ssd instead. :p

  • Anyone know how to use this card to write into mobile phone without root? Since I upgraded to 4.4. My internal memory card is pretty much useless now.

  • +1

Finally managed to get through and snap one up.
Try not ticking the 'create account for later use' option. I found that it hangs if you do that.

    • +1

didn't tick that at it still fail, it hangs after i completed delivery address.

  • Awww, I paid $3 more from the recent ebay futu deal a few days ago:(.

  • Ta TA, TB

  • +1

Managed to get to the checkout after paying with Paypal. Then got an error message right at the end.
But I have received the confirmation email from Paypal . Same as abhi900.

    Well see what happens tomorrow.

    • mail to Francesca… I PM her and my order was processed.
      Dispatched today.

      • Thanks mate.
I just called them up this morning and spoke to a very helpful CSR. She said she would take care of it and send me out a confirmation email.

  • +1

Me: Heh-heh-heh, I did it. Website eventually loaded, and all I had to do was miss eight days of work!
Man: With the money you would have made working, you could have bought a MicroSD sent on a private jet and delivered within minutes of purchase
    Me: In theory, yes.

edit: got order confirmation number on the website & an email from Paypal but no email from PCByte yet - wondering if its because of the string of error codes along the way

  • +2

Worst experience I've ever had buying online. Didn't think it was possible to beat "Catch's sale" timeouts. :S

  • Hello Rep
Does this come with a SD adaptor?

  • Nope, tried a few times with no luck. Now just get server errors. Will buy elsewhere at a higher price.

    • finally got mine ordered

my work around to get mine working (or is it the server is slowly recovering hence faster-I don't know), Worth a try if any one still interested.

      1. create an account first if you haven't had an account with them (didn't want to do that at first but it hangs after i entered my address at checkout so i better off create an account first so my address just got populated to reduce chance of it hangs due to address issue)
      2. if the circle sign keeps spinning click refresh, it seems to reload a tat faster or at least load page properly that enable you to click on "check out" to take you to payment option page. keep click refresh the page if it takes too long to load/proceed
      3. once you done your paypal payment it goes smooth from there
  • I thought MSY once had better deal, I bought couple. can't remember how much it was.

  • The website is not showing up at all atm!
