  • Waiting for others to do cost-compare of a faux-repair and 10k Velocity points

  • Is there a minimum spend i.e. is it eligibal with a 149$ service (OR Velocity members earn 3 Points per $1 spent on Essential Services (all variants, Prices range from $149 - $249)? also does anyone know if these guys do upsell tactics? i.e. come in foe $149 service, get talked into spending $800 on breaks and spark plugs

    • Hi Gavman,

Our Essential service starts from $149.00. Just FYI, Midas Kew is under new management from FEB 2015. We never use tactics to increase our sales. We simply let customer know what is required on their car and it is up to the customer to get it fixed. we are committed for customers.

We are also happy to show you what the problem is with your car apart from just mentioning it over the phone.

You get bonus points as long as you get your car service done before 31st July. Please make sure that you book your service with the same name as mentioned on your velocity membership.

      • Good to hear. Ive had bad experiences in the past and Im sure many other have as well. I try to research as much as I can so I don't get stung again.

Does $149 include premium synthetic oil for my Toyota Aurian?

        • Hi Gavman,

As mentioned on our website, Essential service includes up to 5L of semi-synthetic oil. it will be $219 for premium synthetic oil.

          Have a great day.

  • They quoted me once about $150. Fixed it in the end myself for $10… Hard to find an honest mechanic these days…

Also, the picture in the link is definitely not Midas in Kew, in really looks like this…

and, it's not in Kew, it's in Kew East (different postcode and 3km away)

    I'd definitely look elsewhere…

      Hi JV,

were you quoted $10… after FEB 2015? you are right. our store is in Kew East. Apologoies for that. I will correct it in the post.

Our store looks old as it was under different management. We are starting renovation of whole store this month so It will look similar to the photo posted on the facebook. Facebook photo will be updated as soon as we get our store in good shape.

I know many people would struggle to find good mechanics but I am happy to say that your search will end at our store as we stand by our words and we do whatever we say.

      • It was early last year…

          Thanks for that JV.

Few customers had bad experiences under previous management. Now this store is under new management and staff from FEB 2015. We are spot on in providing genuine advise and service. Please give us a go and you won't regret your visit. :)
