HTC RE Compact Action Waterproof Camera (Orange) - AUD $97.99 Shipped from Mobileciti eBay

80

Just bought one of these for my Euro trip. My first "action cam", as I was not ready to shell out hundreds for the GoPro or Sony.

This is 100% Genuine, Australian A-Tick Stock w/ 12 months warranty. Cheapest I found on StaticIce was $219, which seems to be a grey import.

Also available in two other colors, both are a whole $3 more expensive:
White - $97.99 shipped

Blue - $97.99 shipped

  • All good features but useless if battery life is not good. Review says?

  • They're pretty fun little cameras. Quality of course isn't as good as a $300 GoPro, but good for a $93 camera. The YouTube livestream feature is pretty cool. 30mins takes about 200MB of your mobile data.

I think you're better off with the Xiaomi yi or even the Sj4000wifi at this price range.

The almost regulation Techmoan action cam review for those interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfCDXzTm568 (NB. I haven't been able to confirm the models are identical.)

    • There's only one model so yup it's the same.

  • This seems like a good price, and I'm keen on this for its form factor ove a Go Pro .. particularly for say mounting on the front of a bike. NOTE: it was reported in serval places that a new model was already being worked on before the end of last year to appear this year - and I'm waiting to check this out.

It's a slightly better deal if you can pickup from Mobileciti's Parramatta NSW store, or order over $100 on their website to qualify free shipping (eg, buy two cams).
    Orange: $89
    White: $92
    Blue: $92

  • I am going to build a submarine.

HTC overpriced this camera right at the beginning trying to take on the lower end of the GoPro market but fails against cheap alternatives such as SJCAM and Xiaomi. This price for genuine Aussie stock is really good considering it is waterproof and stuff without extra plastic mechanisms like all the GoPro competitors. Seems like it is running end of line and excess stock to me. Might grab one for the sake of grabbing one even though I havent touched my SJ5000+ too much..

  • Very good price, my friend bought it from Hong Kong double the price.
