OzBargain Underbelly

Yes - that was a misleading title, but you did click…

G'day. It's early. 9 degrees. Cold for Brisneyland. Feel my pain.

There was a doco - a rpt, no dbt - on the ABC, late last night, about the Warumpi Band. Reminded me of one thing and prompted thought of another.

Ten years ago, crate-diving, found a near-new copy of the band's one album. Bought for a song. Clip previously seen on Rage.
Lisa Simpson would definitely (or, for some on OzBargain - 'defiantly') approve of the saxamaphone in this, and so do I.

I'm not immune to the caprice that is sometimes associated with loving a bargain. I've done many a silly thing (mainly relating to fuel-cost and time-spent) to buy things that I (nor anyone else) actually needs.
That said…

The prompted 'thought of another' mentioned above, was that for every person that frequents OzBargain for better prices on multiple things that they don't really need; for every person here for genuine advice (for 'advises', too) and maybe to gain a better grasp of English (God help you); for every person who likes to spam the live feed with twenty deal upvotes in rapid succession for pure wank-purposes; AND for every person/peep here just for the various comment lols & comment trolls - there simply MUST be people on OzBargain that are just seeking the absolute best-price on only the things that they really, truly, need.

OzBargain polls are anonymous.

Savvy, cautious, buyer. Here primarily for info and advice **&** price!

Here to save and learn, but still think that the English language is loopy.

I spam the live feed with upvotes. Expired deals too. LOL.

  • No batman poll option?

    • Scotty's name and gravatar belie the truth. We all know that.

Tas you're making my head hurt.

    • Sorry for the headhurt, DrStinge. Even if you're not an gp, there are some non-prescription meds for that. Some bargains around, probably…

It is too early in the morning, I don't understand your poll, or even half of what you wrote. have you been smoking some whacky-Doo?
I come to ozbargain mostly for FOMO.

Fear of missing out. Is that a crippling fear for you, loulou? Sounds terrible.

      Maybe, consult DrStinge?

So this is clickbait to make us answer your survey O_O the bait being an interesting title ;)

Funny, I was thinking about it this morning… I like to say I come here for coughfreebies and also to get discounts on items on my list that are either wants, or things I should get around to buying but haven't looked into yet. Just as an example, if I've been meaning to buy a new bookshelf but can't be bothered looking/carrying it from the shop and there's a good deal with a discount + free shipping!

    • 'Clickbait' title resulting from 'a title required'.
Post was at least half-serious, inspired by the doco and song. Poll was just a before-breakfast add-on.

Wishing you a great bookshelf (delivered), deal!

  • It is nippy in brissy…maybe his brain has frozen.

  • Mmm, freebies… Stuff I already want, I come on here to help assess best price. Travel advice from like-minded bargainers is handy too. I also use OzB for all my gifting (insert infomercial here)! Kills two birds with one stone: I satisfy my bargain hunting desires and human gift obligations.

    • Apologies. 'Freebies' motivation/option was an oversight. Hashtag sleepy 'scuse.

Where's the "I'm only here for the witty comments" option?

    • Sorry. 'Lols / Trolls' option was intended.
Like 'Freebies' not mentioned, let alone won, I'm just going to imagine them to have been given a run..

I bet you have an arts degree.

    • Your bet was poorly judged. Arts degree, studiously avoided.

  • The English language isn't loopy when you know how to handle it.

I'm not sure whether you're trying to give some sort of rhythm to your words, but it's not really working. I have little to no idea what you're saying without taking the time to carefully examine your writings.

    • The rhythm in the wording is there to be discerned and anything initially difficult to understand, understood. I quite like to challenge people, but needing to read a brief post, twice, isn't really much of one. Surely?

I like your avatar. I'm choosing to perceive you as a less-spiky Grandpa Simpson, who (unlike his son), actually likes Lisa's saxamaphone. :)
