I am so sick of nearly running over international students trying to pose on these stupid little skateboards. If you want a skateboard, just buy a real skateboard. Nobody's impressed.

    ehh…i'm of the opinion that wood makes for a better skateboard — it's more stable for beginners and heavier skaters, has better feel/control and for cruising around, better durability.
    
    however, plastic doesn't get soggy when you skate in the rain, is flexible enough to absorb shock while you're cruising over crap terrain.
    
    that said, people who just carry their deck around everywhere and can't skate up a slight gradient are harmless posers. but more importantly, don't know how to control their speed or know how to stop, they're a danger to themselves and others

      Plastic and wood boards have their own set of pros and cons which you've listed. I'm just not a fan of people acting as if one type of board is more "real" than another. Ask any pros, I'm sure they don't give a shit if a plastic board is labeled as a skateboard. I have dozens of boards of both types and I enjoy them both for different reasons.

    Pretentious is barely staying upright on a hot pink plastic skateboard, veering the wrong way up the street into traffic while checking your phone, what I'm doing is moaning about something that has nothing to do with whether this is a bargain or not, so, whatever.
