Sony SRS-X3 Series Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Black $98 (+Delivery/Pick Up) @ Harvey Norman

43

Got the email from DSE for a cheap Sony SRS X2 for $78 but reviews were not entirely favourable. Had a look around and came across this at Big Harvs. Greys online have them for $99 but they are refurbished. Solid reviews for this model except for playing at the highest volume it distorts a bit. 7hrs battery vs the x2s 5 and overall much better reviews. It was 5.95 for delivery (metro Adelaide) for me so took it up to $103.95. Does not come with carry case.

20W speaker (10+10)
850G
7 hrs. and chargeable by Micro USB and comes with USB AC plug
NFC, Bluetooth & 3.5mm in
Mobile Handsfree

Hope it helps someone not wanting to spend wads on an entry level portable speaker.

  • Solid effort and decent price, usually goes for ~$150+, thanks.

  • I bought one of these on the weekend at Harvey Norman in Moore Park for $89. Really happy with the speaker. Build quality, features and sound quality are impressive! So easy to setup too

  • There is a down side to this one and that is you cannot charge while in use, unlike some similar devices (this means when the battery is flat, you have to wait for it to recharge before you can use it again)

    • Didn't know that. May have swayed my opinion.

      Not entirely true.

If the battery is flat, you can plug the charger in and the speaker will function, but the battery won't be charging until you switch the device off.

Has been $68 in the past. $100 is its regular price now since the new models have been released.

Agree, picked mine up for ~$80 and it seems they are under $100 every time dick has a sale (which is fairly often, but i shouldnt have to tell ozb that).

    • The $68 is very rare, but as stated by others $80 is common. I don't think this is a bargain.

Great little speaker. Got mine for $68 as well. Just wait for the next DS sale.

As long as you try ur best you can't do much more.

        • Don't say that. I'm certain you don't!

I've got one as well and generally impressed with it's sound quality (for the size), and Bluetooth range is very good (15m-17m), but the battery life is nowhere near the stated 7hrs. I usually get 3-4 hrs at most. And yeah it won't charge while playing, which is a slight pain. But for around $70-$80 (using Dick Smith codes), it is probably the best bang for buck Bluetooth speaker right now, and a close match for the $200 Bose Soundlink Mini in terms of sound quality.
