Everbuying Screwed Me Over!

Dear OzBargainers,

I purchased this;
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/196794

About 6 weeks ago, and it is still in "processing", I opened a dispute on PayPal, however was asked to close it so that they will arrange the order for me. However, after closing the dispute, they told me that in a single week they would have shipped it out, and if not, they would have refunded it. However, that was the message sent to me almost 3 weeks ago. I paid for Expedited Shipping on top as well. Unfortunately, PayPal has informed me that, they cannot re-open the case so that I can receive a refund. And thus I am stuck waiting for a non-existent phone, which I have been told is "on it's way" to me.

Need some advice, and yes I understand it was probably stupid that I closed the dispute, putting too much faith into them. If anything, if I can't get my money back, I would like to ask that they be blacklisted from OzBargain, because this is a legitimate case where I have been absolutely screwed over. I mean, waiting for 6 weeks, and not even shipped, and told that it was meant to be shipped to me 2 weeks ago.

Thanks in advance OzBargainers!

    One bad experience doesn't merit a total ban from ozbargain.
    and you should NEVER close disputes till you have your money back or your item.

  • if you look at the original deal , a few people are having issues , i would be asking for my money back/calling paypal.

  • if you funded the paypal transaction by credit card you could investigate a chargeback

    • It was via a debit card. Not sure if that is the same process?

      • if you are not sure then look at the funding source for the transaction in paypal

      • It was via a debit card. Not sure if that is the same process?

        If it was done as a credit card transaction (as opposed to a direct deduction from your bank accounnt,) then yes, you'd be covered.

  • Hi DAOtmc.

    Ok. Im basically almost on same boat as you. I also have purchased this same phone from Everbuying for my mother in law and still haven't received it yet. I haven't yet contacted Everbuying nor Paypal. But after reading this I will ASAP contact Paypal and try to get a refund. I paid by CC so fingers X I can get a refund. I've been checking the post everyday since 2 weeks ago… :(

    • I feel like there's been quite a few people having issues. I wish you the best, and do NOT close the dispute. Get your money back regardless. And if they say "please close the dispute so that they can arrange shipment to you." Simply reply with; "No, a refund is more adequate". Or something, because it's against their policy as it states a maximum of 5 working days to PROCESS and then be shipped, and 4-7 working days to arrive at your door with expedited. IF you paid for normal shipping, then it's 15-25 days. However, I bet yours still says "Processing" as does mine.

      I wish you the best of luck @Lone star!
