  • A unique promo code will be emailed to you

How long are the codes valid for ??

    • The email I got didn't state the validity of the codes. So I'm assuming it's as long as it's used up.

    • July/Aug as per my response below

  • +1

LIVEN15 for $4 evening and weekend parking is also good.

    • This worked for me, thanks!

  • Thanks!

Any idea if there is an expiry date? Can't seem to find one.

    • +2

According to the page in the app:

      • Weekend (all day) and midweek evening (after 4pm) only
      • Must book your parking online through Secure-A-Spot or using the GoSecure App
      • The promo code is valid for July and August, 2015

      • Standard Liven Conditions

Secure-A-Spot can get you some great parking deals, no doubt; but do remember to be very mindful of the precise entry/exit timings for some of the deals. I got stung by leaving a few mins (like <5min) early on one deal, which cost me an additional $18 (on an $11 earlybird special)…yeah, ouch!

I tried to appeal it both due to dissonance of individual clock timings & based on the fact that I was actually leaving the space free for them to use…but Secure wouldn't have a bar of it. Caveat emptor. :/

    • +1

Ouch - charged for leaving EARLY? I will avoid them.

    • +2

This just doesn't make sense! I would have thought leaving early is actually better for the parking operators!

    • +3

Have used secure-a-spot many times in Melbourne CBD specifically for weekend and evening parking. Have never been charged for leaving early. I always book for the maximum time allowed and in most cases exit a few hours before the maximum time.

Did this happen to you over 1-2 years ago? I remember they used to have a requirement to arrive or leave within a grace period of your actual booking time. This has changed in recent years and is now based on the maximum allowed on each parking-type. As long as you enter and leave within that range, you should be fine.

      • +1

If you have an account, go in and look at the actual times that they book the spot for you. I've booked, for e.g. 5pm ~ 10pm and they say they give you an allowance of 1hr either side but on my account they book it for the maximum period for the price I paid anyway! Which I thought was kind of them. Keeping in mind that this has only been for weekend and evening parking. Not sure about early bird specials.

      • Ditto.

    • +2

Just wanted to say the couple of times we've used Secure-A-Spot for weekend/weeknight parking, we exited before the time we specified for exit and weren't charged any extra.

My guess is that StewBalls was penalised because he booked early bird parking, which specifies that you need to 'enter before Xam, exit after Ypm'.

  • Hi Guys,

Currently the unique free parking promo codes are valid for July and August this year.

You can find out more about this offer on Liven website: https://www.liven.com.au/melbourne/secure-parking/203

    • *Weekend and Evening (after 4pm) only

After 4pm on weekends is a deal breaker for me…

      • +2

After 4pm refers to Evening parking only! :)

        • -4

How do you know that? The sentence could be read either way.

        • @jv:

          Vj, vj, vj ….

  • +2

Ok, I get the free parking thing but who the heck's Liven?

  • Thanks OP.

I tried to redeem another deal on Liven, but it says "Merchant must enter their PIN for you to redeem this offer."
Anyone know what this is about?

    • Anyone know what this is about?

      Hopefully the Merchant…

  • Erm i downloaded the app, pressed redeem on the secure parking which only allowed me to do it once, now I can't seem to copy the code found in 'My savings' tab.

    Am i missing something?

Edit: looks like you get an email - it's just a bit delayed

  • +3

thanks OP for sharing! SP has been my no.1 parking options in Melb CBD due to the various of promotion!

    • It's so good. $2 school holiday parking. Awesome.

  • Moderator, can you fix the Go to Deal link? That's just SP's website, not the deal page. The correct link to this deal's page is https://www.liven.com.au/melbourne/secure-parking/203 as posted by cloudream.

    • +1

Best to use the report button for these requests.

      • +1

Thanks sween64. I am new to Ozbargain so still learning.

  • You just click on redeem now right and not slide the merchant must slide thing afterwards. Ive only clicked on redeem now but havent received email re free secure parking yet

    • Ok just so everyone knows you click on redeem now, then slide the merchant must slide thing and then it activates

  • So if I enter after 4pm on thursday. What time should I exit? Before 12am?

    • +2

      What time should I exit?

When you want to go home…

    • +1

Depends on the car park closing hours. If it's a 24 hour car park then you have to exit before 6am.

  • Only worked once for me, now the second time it wants me to pay for liven membership.

    • Each code can be used for 3 times.

      • I received an email and it says 2 free redeems only.

        • +1

2 free redemptions across all merchants on Liven, not just Secure Parking.

You can redeem 1 secure parking code (for 3 times free parking) and 1 offer from other merchants, e.g. Peninsula hot spring 20% off.

        • @Cloudream:

I joined Liven, what does it cost to purchase the redemptions/discounts?

I couldn't find any details online.

        • @JB1: Premium membership costs $19.95 per year currently. You will get 1-3 vouchers for each merchant per year.

  • anyone having issues with redeeming the code? mine is not working!! :(

    • actually, it's working now, only for selected parking garages…my bad!!

  • This is awesome! Worked perfectly for me!

  • My code doesn't apply to Midcity Chinatown :(
