Kathmandu Summit Club Members Deal - 1 Day Only - ultraCORE Thermal Tops/Long Johns for $25 Each

650

Received an email just now advising of a further price drop for one day only at Kathmandu on selected items for tomorrow (Thursday, 16th July), but has started online early.

Other items include a variety of jackets, socks, sleeping bags and backpacks.

I think the ultraCORE is a great deal personally, but hopefully others will find benefits to this deal as well.

Don't forget to go through Cashrewards for even more of a saving (via cashback).

So are we able to ask for a refund of price difference or does Kathmandu not do that?

    • im going to try. not happy!

      • yup I sent them an email, we need justice.

Call them, I just did and he said he's not sure why the price would drop and they normally don't refund price difference but he said he'll consult with his team members and contact me tomorrow. The more people contact, the more they'll do something about refunding it.

    • Good question.

I bought 2 ultraCORE yesterday at $60, so would definitely like to know too.

      • +1

send them an email and contact them, I just did. i'll let you know what they say

        edit/ like above:

    • If you bought on credit card check if it's got a price-drop guarantee.

I applied for the summit club membership card but never got it in the post. :(

    • +3

did you get the email? it has your member number, correct? i called and the lady says nowadays they dont send plastic card anymore you can keep that email as proof of member, ie show the email when you purchase etc.
but, if you ask and insist, they will send you one plastic card in the post.

      • Yes, you are right I dug up the email and it has the member number. Thanks erwinsie.

      • +1

Got one by email. Got the plastic card + keyring card after 1st purchase.

    • I received mine in the post a few weeks ago.

    • +1

in fact i just got mine in mail today, after god knows how many weeks

      • funny, i just got mine today as well.

        • Me too just today. And I was also about to comment I didnt get mine yet

      • lol me too

    • I received my physical card in the mail today.

    • I just got mine in the post today too. It was sent in May! So there's hope yet.

    • I also applied a few weeks ago. Only just received the membership card today. Just gotta wait I guess. Can't imagine how many people signed up to the free membership.

  • is this instore too? The goose down jacket was listed at $349 in store.

    • The best I could find in regards to this was where the ad states "Not all items available in all stores or to buy online. Styles and colours may vary between stores", so YMMV.

    • +1

According to the email, and the big banner ad on the page in the link, this is "one-day only" (tomorrow – Thursday 16 July), but "starts online now".

      • +1

Ah I missed that, thanks I'll update the post.

Black and white ultraCORE are 404.

Click on the "quick add" button that appears when your cursor hovers over the item and it should add the item to your cart without an issue.

At least it did for me.

      • +1

Thanks, but I wanted to watch the images and zoom-in on the material…

EDIT: It works if you add it to your cart (like you suggested) and open it from there… thanks.

    • Links to ultraCORE products work from this page: http://www.kathmandu.com.au/articles/ultracore.html

  • I got a long sleeve UltraCore ladies top in the clearance section at DFO in South Wharf for $20 today. Not a great colour but I thought I would try one. They also had some Merino and Thermaplus there as well. The Thermaplus are $15, not sure what the Merino was. (I don't buy them as I can't wear wool).

    • You can wear wool, but it may not agree with you. :)

    • +1

      DFO?? Don't know it?

I bought Tuesday thermaplus from Kathmandu's for $20

The ultracire at$25 is much better deal

      • +1

The DFO, Direct Factory Outlet, is just beyond Jeff's shed (the new exhibition building) in Melbourne.

    Krapmandu is overpriced

    • +5

Can you recommend a better value alternative? Not attacking you but if you're going to say something is overpriced, you should give us an alternative :)

      • Mountain Hardwear.

I buy the Aldi ones now. Made for a german winter. Very good. Although this price for the katmandu ones is worth it.

  • UltraCore $25 each or 2 for $70.
    Eh?

    • +3

$25 is for Summit Club members only. 2 for $70 for general public.

    • Thanks j1568, perfect explanation.

  • +1

Wearing mine right now at work in Melbourne. Godsend.

    • +1

      Same.

Normally I wouldn't even bother with Kathmandu (as their usual prices are out of my price range), but at this price, these particular thermals are well worth the money imo.

Alternatively, BigW/Kmart/Target also sell cheaper "thermals", but the adage "You get what you pay for" rings true when it comes to the thermals offered by these companies.

Source: I own 2 thermal tops (one from Big W, one from Target). Still used to get cold on nightshifts with them underneath my work uniform.

With the ultraCORE, that's no longer a problem (except for my hands/face).

I had trouble adding to cart last time as it kept coming up with the 404 page not found error every time i tried to select a different colour, so hope this helps anybody having trouble changing colours or adding to cart.

    Thanks OP for sharing :)

You're welcome mate, hope you managed to find something to your liking :)

  • Summit Club? is that like the Mile High Club?

  • +4

Too bad no xs size or free shipping

    • To avoid the shipping fee, you can click and collect if there's a Kathmandu near you.

Takes a few days for your order to get to your nominated store.

Free shipping would have been superb.

Alternatively, if you can get to a store tomorrow, the price should be the same.

      • +2

But if you go to store tomorrow, you won't get the 4.8% cashrewards cashback :)

    • Is it still free shipping over $100?

      • Confirmed free over $100.

    • just tried Carindale in Brisbane. Got told if it's not on the website, it's likely out of stock at the main store/warehouse.

  • How do these compare to Uniqlo's "Extra Warm" long johns? (http://www.uniqlo.com/au/store/men-heattech-extra-warm-long-…)

These are $19.90 each now the price has dropped? Are Kathmandu ones better @ $25?

  • What does everyone think of the Men's goose down hooded jacket v5, or Monrovia Men's 2.5 layer waterproof jacket?

    • The goose down jacket will keep you very warm for Melbourne winter. It is water-resistant.
The Monrovia Men's 2.5 is just waterproof jacket. Won't keep you warm.
So it depends on what you wanted to use it for.

How does this compare to the $12 polypro thermals from the other week?

    • Was wondering about the same thing.

    • Edit polypro are looser weave and polypropylene, thermal plus are looser weave and polyester, while the ultracore are a tight weave and polyester.

    • +1

Nicer, softer, thinner fabric. I find polypro scratchy / itchy, but not these. Really like the Ultracore, very comfortable, they're my go-to base layer for winter cycling. Recommended.

    • Polypro stretches in the wash - I can't stand that.

  • Just ordered 2 x thermal long johns click & collect. $35.
    Cheaper by the minute lol

    • How come I can't find the deal?
Can you share the link, please?

      • Neither can i. Don't quite understand what he means, perhaps he misunderstood and purchased the 2 for $70 dollar package (which is more than the summit club special)

        • probably david stuffed up bought 2 for $70

  • Plenty if stock at Kathmandu town hall in Sydney

  • Got two of the men's medium tops from the, near Gertrude St end, Smith St Store in Fitzroy Melbourne. They had plenty of stock in a number of sizes and colours.

  • I bought the mens pants and one top over the weekend at Highpoint for the 2 for $60 deal to use this weekend at Falls Creek. Saw this deal on OzBargain last night so decided to bring the two with me to work today which are still in the box and took them into the Camberwell store during lunch and asked for the difference to be credited. They ummed and ahhed for a bit but agreed to give me the difference in store credit, wouldn't refund the difference and said that they would only give me store credit if I was to return the items. They said if the boxes were opened then they wouldn't give me the credit…

Not sure if anyone else had any luck with trying to get the difference refunded to them.

    • yeah when i collect mine from store i will insist of this otherwise just refund all and buy again.

      • i get promised $5 for each thermals refunded in egift card, not cash. havent receive but just email saying they will issue

  • macpac have thermals 3 for $55
    http://www.macpac.com.au/mens/tops/thermals
Similar to the thermalplus katmando sell, except the tops seem to run a size larger
