Antelife // UMI Iron Pre-Sale $230 AUD and Gets You 90% off UMI Accessories - Ships on The 20th

30

I am just gonna copy and paste my Whirlpool thread here since it covers the deal, a review link and what I purchased…

Read a review on this new device over at the Spanish forum where the K3 Note ROMs are primarily coming from and it confirmed all specs are true eg. that the battery is 3350mah and the device itself is super responsive and fast in real life applications, the screen is great and it's basically a great phone, so I ordered one with some accessories from Antelife. They have a pre-sale special on the phone and also a special where if you order a UMI phone you get 90% off their accessories. The orders ship out on the 20th of this month (July).

I also read on the review that WCDMA-CLR-850 is supported, so maybe that means 850Mhz support in Aus? Either way I'm with Vodafone in a half regional, half metro area so I'll be sweet for reception.

NOTE: To add the accessories you have to go to this link http://www.antelife.com/umi-iron-mtk6753-1-3ghz-octa-core-5-… and CTRL+left click the accessories you want to add to select more than one, then click add to cart.

I paid $285 and got:

UMI Iron
Tempered glass
UMI black leather flip cover
UMI black soft gel cover
UMI in-ear earphones with mic and volume control
Express 3-7 delivery via DHL
Parcel insurance

I had to pay via credit card as Paypal wasn't giving me errors due to the prices not matching up correctly — I'm guessing due to the way the site is set up to add accessories and the sale and stuff is throwing the prices out so when you go through Paypal it somehow comes up with around $347 AUD if I remember. Non-Paypal credit card payment directly through their site worked fine. And no this is not some scam to avoid Paypal so their can rip you off — check TrustedReviews and you'll see they have like 8/10 score.

Anyway super happy with the price and can't wait to get the phone! Looks good, runs pure stock Android 5.1 with easy root access via Rootjoy, custom ROM support via Rootjoy and OTA updates provided you keep the stock recovery on there.

Cheering!

  • UMI phones haven't supported WCDMA 850MHz in the past. I'd want to see a few more reviews specifying that it does support it before trusting this translation.

    • Found some more evidence of 850Mhz support — this time from s7yler, a highly reputable China Droid reviewer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61679901&post…

      • Still not convinced! I've been burned by "claimed" specs on a Chinadroid before.
s7yler "confirms" that it's a 3000mAh battery by taking a photo of the battery.. cause Chinadroids have never printed a completely false battery capacity on their batteries
        /sarcasm

EDIT: As pointed out in the Whirlpool Chindroid thread. It appears that this phone doesn't have 850MHz support at all.

  • looks so good and very tempted to buy it.

It will replace my aging/dying S4. Sick of Samsung to be honest and never going back to it anytime soon

  • No WCDMA at 850mhz kills it for me.

why do they show in the photos edge to edge screens but in reality these phones have massive bezels…

    http://kabargadget.biz/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/UMi-Iron.p…

    That's a no thanks from me…

    • Ahhhhh a bezel-hater! Your kind is in great abundance on various sites across the interwebs. Seriously though, just buy the dark one or use a dark background or something. It's not that big of a deal for the price mate.

      • My hate isnt from the bezel, it's from them showing promo photos that show it going all the way from edge to edge and top to bottom, but real world shots show it has a thick area surrounding the screen that is just… well, not like their promo photos…

  • On some other sites it's saying it's 1.5GHz which is even better.

Is there 2 versions of this?

    • I personally think that 1.3Ghz is perfect for an octa processor running along side a T720 GPU — especially one that has overheating issues haha!

  • I'm interested in the stock android on this more than anything, anyone have experience on how quickly they get updates out for their devices?

  • Judgingby a friend's Nexos experience, you usually you get them on the same or max by next day. This is one of the things I am interested in as well here.

    • +1

Nexus experience is better than this will have. I wouldn't be holding my breath for official software updates past 6 months.
Whether it has developer support to maintain updates is yet to be seen, but MTK don't have good Developer relations.

  • anyone has any idea how the warranty works on this?

  • anyone please what do you think between UMI Iron or ulefone be touch 2.
