Dyson V6 Basic $348 @ Harvey Norman Expo - VIC Only

190

Went to the Harvey Norman expo today in Melbourne showground, they are doing discounts on Dyson with DC 45 at $278. I bought the basic version of V6 at $348, and add on the product care from Harvey Norman so the protection extended to 6 years including battery with only extra $49.00. The basic V6 is selling $547.00 which is the cheapest I've seen. The expo is still on tomorrow so go and grab this deal!

  • Do they accept Harvey Norman gift card for payment?

Do you pick up the product from the expo or do they deliver it to you?

Are prices advertised with a sign or is it by word of mouth?

Dyson do free delivery. The sales girl said it doesn't matter you live and the delivery is free! As I live in Hampton Park she said that is fine. But anyway I pick up straight away so it doesn't matter….

      • Does it work for $50 cashback if paid by Amex card if one bought above $300 from Harvey Norman at expo instead of their physical store? I am not sure if that offer is over though.

It is display when u r there. I didn't think to post here until my friend told me I should, thats why I didn't take a photo. The top range of Dyson V6 Absolute Handstick is selling $598. Really great deal.

      • Thank you, sounds good. It's free delivery within 25km from your nearest HN store.

How do we buy it we can't get to the expo?

  • I don't think u can get it unless you are there. The sales girl told me this is the cheapest price in the state. Weather it's true or not, I am not sure 😀

      whether

  • Hmm I'd love to get a cheap Nurtibullet 900w (the 25,000 rpm version), they all seem to be $199, and fall under the fine print at the 15% off sales under exclusions apply.

Might be Karma, make people who are too last to chew pay full price.

It's almost like Miele …. same price everywhere.

  • 6yr extended warranty? How much is normal warranty?

As for the Nutribullet…you obviously don't watch The Checkout. $200 for a blender? Dreaming. You can get 10 kmart ones for that. Oh wait the bloke who designed the kmart ones didn't have medical doctors as parents.

    • I don't think it is 6 years extended warranty, Dyson provides 2 years of standard warranty and the OP has payed $49 for an extra 4 years. However, extended warranty is overrated to be honest. And is truly unnecessary. In Victoria all goods are sold with consumer guarantees which in short terms means the appliance is durable and fit for purpose within a reasonable period of time. The manufacturer's warranty (whether that is 2 years, 5 years, 60 years) is in addition to the consumer guarantees and does not override our consumer guarantees. Extended warranties are very profitable to retailers because they use no floor space and relies on one's fear of losing money. If only more people knew about this.

      • I normally don't buy extended warranty but I bought it in this case as it also covers the battery. It's $49 for extra 4 years which is total of 6 years. There were lots of other deals as well but to be honest if you take these prices to good guys they most likely will beat most of them. Dyson was definitely the best deal today.

I went there this morning and was hunting for a bargain on a F&P fridge. Got 2 different pricing in the expo. One from the F&P guys and one from HN.

F&P was happy to beat the price listed on HN and TGG (listed price was $1659 as special price in TGG). Offer given to me was $1493 with free delivery.

Decided to go look at the fridge at the nearest store again before making a final buy. Made my way to TGG in Maribrynong. Tried my luck of beating the price quoted in expo.

Guess what, got it at $1434 with next day delivery which is tomorrow.

Wanted the extended warranty too, HN price in expo was 320-25%. Got the extended warranty from TGG for $199

all in all paid $1633 and used the 5% cash back ME Bank card (Paypass payment of <$99). Yes I used it 15 times (20 times is the limit per day and I had used 5 earlier in day). 5% cash back on $1485 works out $74.

Add to it, F&P had recently sent a "Thank you" email for being F&P customer (i use F&P washing machine which i bought a year ago), giving a discount of $75 for buying F&P product worth $1500 and more.

Final effective price after all discounts
    $1633 - $75 - $75======$1483.

I thought I got a bargain, what do you guys think?

    • I think ME bank will get suspicious at the 15 X $99 transactions.

I hope you get the 5% cashback, but it's hard to fool financial institutions :(

      • I got a call back from ME Bank in 30 mins of the transactions asking I was the one who made the transactions. I confirmed this saying I lost my pin hence had to do a paypass under $100.
