Car Mats - Toyota Corolla Where to buy? and What to buy.

Hey guys!

I just got my first car. Now I'm looking to fit it with the inside rubber mats. I've looked at repco and supercheap auto. They seem to have the $20 - $60 range for a set of 4. However on the net, it seems to be $200! Is there something I'm missing. Is the rubber a better quality?

  • I personally like the carpet ones but if you choose rubber be aware that some of them give off a terrible smell that will erase new car smell very quickly.

    • Wouldn't the carpet become dirty?

      • Take em out and hose em off.

        • Ah okay. I'm also worried about rainy days. the water making the mat mold.

@shadow131: No, in 25 years of driving I've never had mats go mouldy.

@shadow131: personally, I've been buying the cheapo 4 pack mats from supercheap for around $20 for the last 10 years.

replace them every 3 years or when selling the car. not that they really need replacing but as a "cosmetic" thing.

If you sell the car, it might just pay for the matts.

    • What do you mean?

  • I've got some secondhand Toyota Corolla mats if you're interested. I'm from Melbourne. :)

  • it's about $110 from dealer

    • as in a genuine one fitting for my car model? or still a generic brand?

take a look at kmart/target/bigw if you arent too fussed about them
i was a bit put off by repco prices for anything that seemed half decent, when i just wanted something i could live with that would prevent the carpet in my old car from getting worn

happened to stop in at kmart and got some alright carpet mats for maybe $12. i think they even had a set of rubbers for $6. ridiculously cheap, and under your shoes they probably all feel the same

    • Never occurred to me Kmart might have them! Thanks! Ill check it out!

  • Is the car brand new?

    • Second hand. But I still want to keep it clean.

      • What year? Just seeing if genuine would be an option :)
