Help find me a bargain on mobile internet + 4G mobile broadband modem for my laptop

I use a laptop on the train and i would like to have access to the internet. I probably only need 500 mb to 1 GB a month. Please help me find the cheapest, acceptable solution. Using my phone as a hotspot is not very effective so thats not an option. Thanks

Buy an annual pass. $50 for 5GB of data, with long expiry of 365 days. Data rolls over if recharged.

Alternatively Amaysim — $9.90 for 1GB of data a month.

    • I reckon the flexibility from the Telstra deal would be the winning feature for me.

Currently using the Vodafone $30/mth with 8GB and it's great if you can use it all/most up.

  • 20% off woolworths Vodafone broadband 1y recharge 29/7-4/8. $40 more affordable than Telstra (15GB) both LTE.

  • thanks i'll look into these all

  • Merged from Help Me Find a Bargain on a Mobile Broadband Modem (+ cheap Mobile Data)

Now realise I need to buy the modem separately. So please help me find a bargain on a Mobile Broadband Modem which I can use with a cheap mobile data plan like those suggested here (only need 500 mb to 1 GB a month)

    • Its 3G, so speeds not great I expect? Maybe I'll limit my search to 4G modems. Also cheapest optus plan seems to be $60 a year for 250 mb a month => 3 GB a year, which isn't a super bargain or enough data. Thanks the same

  • Cheapest so far is Telstra
$50 for 5GB of data, with long expiry of 365 days. Data rolls over if recharged
    +
Pre Paid 4G USB, $69 with 3GB of data to use in Australia within 30 days

    = $120 with 5GB over 1 year + 3GB over 30 days
