  • 'cause they're such large items, the shipping is usually prohibitive…

    :P

      Sarcasm?

Better than nothing. Last order I made I was charged $8 for delivery (Australia Post Express - reasonable price).

You can think of it as an 8% discount :)

good deal - will you be shipping over christmas/new year?

    • Thank you. We will still be operating on all days except public holidays and endeavour to send your contact lenses to you asap. You should still allow 1 - 2 weeks for delivery.

      • so….did my order go through? I didn't even get an email of the invoice

        • Thank you for your order. I have a direct debit order ref #849 if that is your order it has gone through, once the direct debit payment is cleared your lenses will be sent.

Just bought 4 boxes. The lenses sold on this site is cheaper than the site I normally use. But for those who want even cheaper contact lenses buy from overseas :)

    • Exactly, ones from the USA are half the price

      • Contact lenses in the US may be cheaper however you have to pay extra for shipping and wait longer for your lenses to arrive. All prescription contact lens orders are issused a receipt which you claim with your private health fund, often you'll be paying half of the price or close to nothing after you claim a rebate back from your health fund. Stay tuned for our contact lens rebate calculator in the coming weeks which you can use to estimate how much 'Gap' you'll pay for your contact lenses after your health fund benefits.

  • Wow they're cheap. My local HCF charge $53 for a box of Acuvue Oasys but they're $31 here. I get the costs covered through benefits but wow if I was paying that much and found out how much cheaper they are here, I'd be like wtf!

Some US sites are selling them for $US16

      • What sites are they Thomas?

        • www.coastalcontacts.com is a start. Acuvue Oasys are $20 USD a box ($22 AUD)
There are many others, but I found them to be the cheapest, with free shipping on orders over $100. Takes about 1 week to arrive.
I'm guessing we are taxed more in Australia, or just generally ripped off!

          • @Kelly666: If you buy your contacts from overseas you can't claim them on your health insurance. For me, Medibank private paid for all of my contacts. So for me this is is better than any overseas one (unless there is a US site which gives me contacts for free)

That site you mentioned is only $20 USD when you order 6 boxes. Otherwise it is $25USD per box.

    • HCF normally pays about $140 - $170 for contact lenses. This would mean you could receive up to 4 boxes fully covered by HCF
