To celebrate Christmas Bodybuilding.com is having a 10% discount.
As the Australian dollar is quite strong, supplements can be bought cheaper than in shops.
Well worth a look.

  • Misc brah?

Not to cause too much trouble, but a few points…

10% is available just about all year round if you search the bodybuilding.com forums for the latest 'we miss you' type codes. They give these codes out to people who have not placed an order for a while. I had never placed an order, but searched for the code and got a 10% discount.

Postage from BB.com to australia is disgraceful and generally means it's not worth ordering at all. If you can split orders with a friend, or a few friends, it's much more competitive.

The AUD has dropped about 5c in the last few weeks against the USD. It's still good, but not as good as it was recently unfortunately.

Good post anyway, but I'm not convinced it will be much cheaper than finding a good deal locally anyway. Unless people want to go in for a bulk order?

    Cheers.

Please evaluate your tendency to vote negative on deals YOU dont consider a bargain.

A while it's valid comment about the discount but watch the negative votes - it really is for something that is inherently wrong with a deal and that's not the case you are raising here. If you dont like a bargain, say so, no vote can be just as effective and leaves the deal for others to evaluate and learn from just like mighty boy has done with his comment. BTW the poster never said it was a HUGE discount.

Look here for a discussion by others on negative voting, which you have already made some good contribution

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/18465

I think the real issue with this post is that we are Ozbargain and this is a US based company where the bargain seems to be based purely on the Aussie dollar strength rather than any bargain per se

You also have the "report" button you can use to alert the mods to any suss deal

      • I think this deserves a neg vote because it is not a bargain as you can clearly get this deal at anytime. Also as per Mighboy.

So how is this a bargain if it is available everday the same price ? also is it elegible to be a bargain if its 10% reduced

I dont beleive there is new rules for neg votes although the rules do change somewhat.

The problem i see is if we get too exclusive the site will diappear up its own bumm , no offense

Please note the "huge" was in reference to it being a bodybuilding site , ie a joke which obviously wasnt picked up by you

        • Same price as can get it anytime is a good reason. Thank you for clarifying that.

Not following you on the site being too exclusive … are you talking about allowing this bargain on the web site, having reasons for voting negative … ?

The "huge" joke wasn't clear to me either … might've needed a bit more of a wind up on that one :)

          • @SomeGuyOnOzB: No problems.

A bit concerned as per the forum topic it might alienate new users to the site(neg vote revokes etc), but then you guys have to try something :)

Alas my humour, this is why i am writing in forums and dont have my own comedy gigs lol

        • We know you love the negative button, as mightyboy had already given the reason why did you have to jump in as well, with some pun which maybe we would have got if we had the ability to hear. But in written form (now there's another pun maybe) it gets lost

Might want to look here as an example of a great negative vote by Blitz

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/20485#new

          • @[Deactivated]: Yes i do love the negative button, although to balance it out there are others that love the positive button, not mentioning any names. I think as a community it is a good represenatation of the opinions felt overall. ie not everyone lives in fairy land and everything is wonderfull this is why critics have a job (maybe just food and movies at this point) imo

            Still good call :)

            • @Mikinoz: Well now thats over - This thread might get killed - nothing to do with your/my posts etc, its to do with undeclared rep as noted below

  • +1

    is the OP a rep?

    doesn't appear that great a bargain…

    • Not listed as such - so alpha-male please declare your association with this company or we may remove this post as it would breach our guidelines

wisc - whenever you see something like this you can use the report button, that alerts mods to breaches - Thanks

  • Yeah but the site also has some pretty good reviews as well:

    http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Body_Building

BodyBuilding.com has been around for quite a few years.

  • I'm back!

Firstly, I didn't vote negative despite my comments because I do believe there is some merit to this discount. Whilst I have pointed out you can almost always get 10% if you know what you are doing, I don't believe many people actually do realise this.

Bodybuilding.com is probably about the cheapest place to buy supplements in general, so 10% off the cheapest place IS a bargain. Imagine the reception 10% off apple products would get? Discounts on apple products are rare, and people DO care about 10% off.

The main reason why to be this isn't a very useful bargain for us is the shipping cost. Unfortunately the prices BB.com offers to Australia are exorbitent and generally negate all the value their low prices offer.

As for bodybuilding.com being a dodgy seller, I highly doubt it in general. The website is huge. The forums are the 21st largest forums on the internet and the website in general is the 1,095th most visited in the world.

If I were unaware of the 10% discounts that are available by searching through the forums, I would definitely have appreciated this post when looking to place an order.

Anyway, what's it all worth now?

    Cheers.

  • Oh and also, I highly doubt alpha-male is a rep, based on the reasons above regarding the size of the bb.com website. No offence to this excellent website, but they honestly wouldn't bother with a site like ozbargain =)

    1. im not a bb.com rep
    2. 10% may not seem much but when you are ordering in excess of $200 it can make a difference
    3. this thread has been drained, if it is not that helpful to you dont bother with neg away, just thought someone might be able to use it
