    Approx $48 delivered from Amazon

    • yes that is what i linked to in the OP.

Just spelling out the total cost with conversion for comparison.

  • It actually comes out as 50.13 AUD delivered using the cheapest delivery option

  • Not if you pay in USD and let your card do the conversion. e.g. 28Degrees.

    • +1

Not if you don't have a 28degrees credit card, or citibank or the few others that get rolled out when fx comes up so it is more appropriate to use the higher conversion (rip off) rate that amazon use as it can be accessed by everyone.

If you don't have one of those cards then you aren't a true ozbargainer!

        • +2

I have none of those cards (I cannot make them because I cannot have a set source of income, i.e. an international student). When I post deals on Ozbargain from Amazon (in fact, I think I was the one who've posted a deal on PNY 128GB USB when it fell down to that price), I post it using the Amazon Converter price. If I post it with the price that's accessible by everyone, it applies to everyone, since you have an option to ignore it and use better methods if you have access to those.

I'm an ozbargainer because I choose to spend my money on bargains not on interest for impulse buys with money I don't have in a currency I rarely use.

Just going to post a warning about these flash drives - there are a ton of negative reviews, and I'm adding mine as well. Just got 2 via the Amazon deal and my benchmarks are 70MB/s read and 30MB/s write. Tested on both CrystalDiskMark 5 and Flash Benchmark. Reformatted as exFat, NTFS, FAT32 - no difference. They also run hot.

Found this document on the PNY site: http://www.pny.com/File%20Library/OEM/Resource%20Center/PNY-…
Interesting performance difference between PCBA and COB configurations. This is for OEM drives - but I can't see any way of telling which ones are now being sold in retail (note that document is from 2014)

  • I bought mine from i-tech from the previous deal and just tried to use it today. Data got corrupted big time. Now I can't delete or format the drive due to it being "write protected".

    What a piece of crap.

Fingers crossed i-tech will honour a refund.

    • That's unfortunate. I've had that write protect problem with an old 8gb kingston microsd card. There's some fix for it, I tried but didn't persist —> cbb. It's a bitch of an error.

Let us know how you go with i-Tech customer service.

      • Thanks buddy I just hope they offer a full refund as opposed to replacement/store credit.

I just ordered a Sandisk 64GB from this deal:

        • still no response from i-tech. might need to step up to pestering mode :(
