I am pretty sure the petrol will be around $10 if I was to pick it up from the store. $5 is pretty cheap for shipping.

    • Surely you aren't that far away from a Good Guys…

Probably won't even buy it. I am reading the reviews and I watched a short demonstration, which shows that this machine doesn't provide a close enough shave.

        • I've got one and use it every second day. Probably not as smooth as a good razor, but better than some others I have tested!

        • I used to have this one, I couldn't get it to shave decently for the life of me so I gave it to a mate (after washing it of course).

It might work if you have fine hair but I went straight back to double edge shaving.

  • Just beware… if you run out of battery, you CANT shave while charge at the same time!
Apparently this shaver was designed to use in shower as well so while charging they dont allow you to turn it on. Some stupid safety thing to prevent idiots taking it into shower to shave while plugged in!

Kinda annoying when you want to shave and you forgot to charge it the night before!

Replace oem battery with eneloops. Recharging becomes infrequent/weekend issue. I did this with an older Philishave that packed it unless plugged in. Replacement batteries are a rip off, so a basic solder job results in a far superior unit. YMMV.

Interested in hearing more, please elaborate?

        • Pretty easy. From memory, only a couple of screws hold the back on. Then the top slipped off near the Beard trimmer. Once inside, the batteries are soldered on to tabs - these are important so don't lose too much of them in the next step - so I carefully pried them off using a flat screwdriver and maintained tension using long nose pliers. I only lost about 1 mm of tab so be careful but don't stress. Once both old batteries were out, I rubbed the top and base of the eneloops with very fine sand paper: this gives a surface that solder will adhere. Then I simply soldered the eneloops into the metal tabs that were attached to original batteries and tested motor. All good. Reseal and Bob's your uncle.

    • You get plenty of warning before the batteries are too flat! Enough to easily do a full shave… if not two!

    Its waterproof

    To what depth ?

Good question. I was looking for a shaver that i could use in my free hand while scraping barnacles when diving alongside my submarine, which is usually deployed at 50-200M.

      maybe this is the one?

is that a load of abalone ?

  • have this shaver.

    its very cool.

used to shave in the shower , now i shave in the car on the drive to work..

battery lasts about a week when used this way.

    • I have the opposite experience. I have one of these and think it's absolute rubbish. Yeah, it'll shave you, but not very well. If you're in a rush it's fine but I'd much rather the close shave that a real razor provides. This one just doesn't cut it for me :(

I use mine while I fire a rifle into civilian housing and string tripwires outside of retirement homes. </sarcasm>

Shaving in the car makes me think you do it like this…

  • First time I've seen this on a genuine sale! RRP is bs, but usually promoted to be on special for between $89-$99!

  • I have had this model for a few years and think it is great. Works particularly well in shower using shaving foam (last one I bought included a can)
They are cheap enough to just buy a new one every 1.5 years when blade go a bit blunt as blades can be aroudn $50 I think.

  • Model number: AT890

  • Brace yourself, Father's day sales are coming.

  • Bought this . Never used an electic before and can't believe how badly it shaves. Tried wet and dry and still leaves stubble.
    Maybe that's normal for electric.

Will keep using it for a while but I know I'll probably go back to disposables. Sigh
