    The reason that the HDD size is small is because the R, T, X series are generally aimed at the Corp environment, and generally they do not request for a large HDD. Instead they are substituted for a longer warranty.

        Yeah its good that they actually added the free upgrade to win7.
        Generally you will find the reason they do not allow upgrade of internal components, is because a company has place a large order, then canceled it. So instead of them, wasting man hour removing parts or adding parts, they just sell the batch as is.

      The reason the HDD size is small has little to do with the target environment. It's because the X300 and X301 use a 1.8" form factor HDD, not the standard 2.5" that most laptops use.

    Looks like they have taken it off. They did say there was only 35 of them left. Not sure how many R500's they have left in stock.
