I have to attend a funeral in Sydney next week, and need low cost motel accommodation for three people (two rooms) for four days (arrive Wed 12th, depart Sun 16th) preferably in or close to the inner west area. The funeral itself is in Rookwood. I don't know Sydney very well - I haven't been there for about 25 years.
Can anyone suggest anywhere to look at? My only non-negotiable requirements are wi-fi and on-site parking.

I've had a look at the offerings on airbnb and haven't found anything suitable yet, but it's hard to search for particular requirements and locations, so I'll keep browsing.

I know the Ibis near Sydney Airport is quite good.
Look up something like Trip Advisor for reviews.
I went with the airbnb idea. My first choice wasn't available, but my second choice seems almost as good. Fingers crossed that it all works out.
Cheers! Happy to help. BTW, look for how many positive review the place has, lots of pictures, response rate etc. Then message the host before booking to make sure about availability even if the calendar says otherwise, they will most likely pre-approve you if all goes well and bob's your uncle.
Alternatively, search for "whole place" on Airbnb?
