  • A good drop?

    • at $15 a bottle it is, I don't think it can justify the RRP of $50 though.

      • Yes, others have said that the $50 RRP is due to the exports to Asia. More likely around the $30 to $35 price point. I got a bottle in a mixed red pack a little while ago but haven't cracked it yet :/

    • Not good value if you want to drink it now. Hopefully the wine I have left will improve with age. A bit acidic IMHO.

  • I believe the $50 RRP was for an export price.
Has been offered a few times before. Have not tried it yet myself.
Just received the Cape Vale CAb sav which I will try tonight….

    • Well the name "Golden Lion" indicates it's aimed at the Asian market.
Maybe the $50 rrp is the price in Singapore with it's hefty wine tax (~$au7.50 for a 14.5% bottle of wine)

  • You are right with it being the Lou Miranda, I got 2 in a mixed case a while back, meant to open one up when it was up before but never got round to it so can't let you know my review on it yet

  • +1

Friend of mine signed up with referral some time ago, never got around to buying. Received email this week from VM with $50 voucher! Went to buy and found the original $25 credit still there, so all up savings of $75!!! So for those of you who received the voucher, a heads up that it's actually worth $75… until 31 August, so get your skates on :)

      • I did laugh about the original $25 dollar voucher still being there!! Mine went a long long time ago.

        • re-reading it again did you mate get a $50 voucher via email?

If so you are are saying he had the original $25 referral + a $50 dollar voucher??

I've not heard of any voucher and as far as I knew the original $25 referral had changed to $50 so if he was referred but not yet bought he would get $50 off a purchase (as per current deal) not $25 even though the referral was done when it was only $25. The person who referred them would also get $50.

      • On second thoughts it's not worth the agro…

  • I tried this wine recently and quite liked it. I'm not really a wine connoisseur, so don't expect palate and flavours from me, but it was a decent wine paired with lamb cutlets.
