Never posted a deal from hospital before, so here's a first. Drove my neigbour to Northern Hospital after he sliced part of his thumb off while cutting some firewood. Had to find a way to pass the time in the waiting room. Looks like a long night ahead. Enjoy the books :)

        If he gets the advice to continually stimulate the nerves by poking the tip of his thumb in a cup of uncooked rice (or the like), tell him to do that, even if it feels freaky and grosses him out. Even if nerve damage doesnt hurt, it still is extraordinarily annoying.

        Just our of curiosity, did he go into near shock?

      Your neighbour is lucky to have you as a neighbor. I sliced of half my finger once. Our car wasn't quite working at the time, but I didn't want to bother anyone, so I used my other hand to fix the starter motor and drove my self to the hospital. All they did was wash it out with saline, and put a few stitches in. Still, its sucks when you cut yourself. I was lucky in that I missed any tendons, but it happened a year ago, and I'm only just getting feeling back in that finger.

    Hope you have an iPad or equivalent to pass the time. Hospitals are incredibly boring and even worse when they decide to leave on a TV to pass the time of day. The only way to fast track into hospital is to be knocked unconscious and it is not something I recommend. I hope they can reattach the guys chopped off bits.

    Mr. tightarse decides to make the most of his unexpected downtime at the hospital, and signs the consent form to have a prostate exam (Tuesday special).

    "Nurse, pull harder, I can't get access. Good, that's better. I can see something now."

    "The prostate, doctor?"
