I just saw a TV ad (as a lot of you have probably seen as well) for a STOCKTAKE SALE, there will be 50% off big brand vitamins including Blackmores, Natures Own, Cenovis, Enervite, Bioglan, Bioorganics. I'm going to go in tomorrow to buy up on my usual stuff!
This is similar to what I posted earlier in the year but it sounds like its going to be for most of the vitamins not just Blackmores.
I just checked the website, I'm pretty sure its going to be in store only.
well many are in my online cart at that price, some small number are instore and are clearly marked

Lots of companies use "up to" to bait. As consumers, we just need to pay attention to what we read.

might be hard to get the ACCC in when its MORE than 50% and BTW by defintion isnt all advertising "Bait" - its designed to "catch" your attention. I think you mean "bait and switch", where they advertsie something they dont have, to sell you something they do.
Yeh they don't seem to mention the "up to" part. I bought some Blackmores vitamins at their last "50% off Vitamins" sale. It wasn't even discounted.
Thats incorrect. Its 50% off the recommended retail price on a massive range of vitamins. For a lot of their products, the rrp is close to their discounted price so it is basically half price. Massive savings. The upto 50% is for prescriptions coz a lot of scripts are government subsidised which means they HAVE to be the same price everywhere.

The Boxing Day flyer clearly states 1/2 price vitamins ;)
If you look carefully it says Half price off RSP, which is Recommended Sale Price by the manufacturer. It you check their price before, normally they sell it a lot under RSP. So don't expect a real 50% off their "normal" pricing. This is another trick we always fall into!!

true but i know since i work there that if they were to discount off their normal price, they would be selling way below cost since the profit margins are not high for these products at cwh.

It's a bit of a scam as it's 50% off RRP, but no store/pharmacy would sell it at RRP in the first place anyhow!
