This is the only coffee I have ever been able to drink black. Very smooth, no bitterness but still strong. It has so much crema it looks like there is milk in it!
The pods have 20% more coffee in them compared to Nespresso capsules. (see customer comments in the previous post about strength@ https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203212 )

It is premium quality coffee, single origin and freshly roasted in Sydney

He has also just added the Paypal express checkout option

the discount is till Tuesday 18th/08/2015

60grams per capsule, the brand I use (and nearly all the others) are 52 grams. Even saw one at coles for $6.99 and was 50 grams.
decent price with the 10% off.

  • Thanks PVA. I think it is 60grams per 10 pack, so 6 grams per capsule

sorry, thats correct. the boxes are marked 60 and the brands I have (coles brand , thats roasted and packed in Aust) is 52, 5.2 per pod.

  • Are there any reviews around of your coffee?

  • I might order a starter pack or two, but I think your mate should work on the packaging and labelling more. Call me traditional, but I dont think names like Snake, Crocodile, Shark and Spider sells coffee, especially for the Nespresso/George Clooney crowd!!!

    • the packaging is quite unique:) He wanted to try to be different to Nespresso… it is hard to compete with a massive swiss company spending millions on marketing!
They are worth trying, there hasn't been any negative feedback on the quality of the coffee… like your comment, the packaging is not to everyone's taste.

  • no formal reviews. One ozbargainer who purchased commented last time see comments at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203212 and there are a few people that have mentioned that its very good on their facebook page

I ordered last time. The pods are pretty good although I'm not much of a coffee connoisseur so not in a great position to judge. I would say they're on par with the Nespresso branded pods. Not sure they're worth the premium over L'Or pods on special though.

The names of the coffee (snake, crocodile, etc) confuses me as does the intensity ratings (still not sure whether 1 is the strongest or weakest).

  • I think 1 is the strongest

  • I agree with others about the stupid names but i bought 2 tasting packs anyway. I'll report back with my findings.

  • God awful branding and naming, I guess it's unique. But I'll give it a try

Forwarded this to a mate who likes his coffee good and strong, and has a Nespresso (yeah I know, sounds a bit weird). Thanks.

BTW if the USP of these pods is that there is 20% more coffee than comparable pods, then this is something that needs to be marketed strongly… it's not even written on the front of the pack! Your mate should re-design the packaging for the next print run :)

  • My review if the retailer is still paying attention to this thread

Packaging and branding is really not my cup of tea (or coffee). It's rather juvenile and belongs on a packet of spicy chips or something.

The Pods don't seem to pour too good on my Clitz, and take a very large amount of effort to close the press, almost making it unstable to close. Maybe its because they really are stuffed full of coffee. But they seem to pour for a very long time to get the same volume through, this results in a little bit of bitterness. I wouldn't use these on a nespresso U automatic system.

Taste, reasonable. Missus complains that the "snake" one is pretty tasteless and I agree. It is the lowest intensity i guess.

    wont be buying again unfortunately.

    • Sorry to here the pour was slow. I will pass the feedback on. I haven't had the issue with on a similar clitz. I assume you may have got a really packed pod.
How old is your machine? Could it be the pressure is no longer 19 bar?
I've used it without a problem on one of the auto machines at my office.
Perhaps the occasional slow pour for extra coffee is worth it!

      • machine is 8 months old. pour takes about 70% less time using a genuine nespresso pod or a Coffee Capsule delights pod.

        • I find most non-nespresso pods are a little slower than official ones and the machine definitely sounds like it's straining more. Other than that all 4 of these flavours are perfectly acceptable, especially when compared to the catch of the day ones I've been trying to finish off lately.
