Just remember its better to go through a cashback site for cashback as Data Packs do not qualify for the $10 new referral credits. However, ive noticed that pricepal doesn't track for amaysim.

    • Might be better to pay just your choice of:

      • $4 per 1 GB (over 24 hours) -or-
      • $2 per ~0.5 GB (" 24 hours)

ie, using Optus MyPrePaid Daily or ..Daily Plus, resp.

You also get to choose WHEN to buy mobile data,
but may have to live with ONLY 1 GB / 24 hours
(& those hours are from ~midnight to next ~m'night).

(Telstra AIR might be cheaper yet, ie,

      • if you use their ADSL at home/in office, -and-
      • happen to want to use that mobile data WHERE an 'AIR access point is.

Always INCONVENIENT TERMS & CONDITIONS is Telstra, IMO)

      —- Rant

"Australia: Land of Artificial Scarcity, meant to Inflate Prices"

('want LOTSA-DATA, CHEAP? You gotta wear Arbitrary Inconvenience,
while our Excess Capacity sits around in Cafes, drinking coffee.)

      What a Tradition!

(Maybe THAT'S why cheap Liquid-Fuel Nuclear Energy (from MSRs) -
that will bring Cheap Green Energy Abundance to folks elsewhere
will be HARD to bring to AU.

Even SA - at the brink of changing Scarcity to Abundance - may
be forced to buy-into Costly+Wasteful Fuel-Rod based IFR PRISM
which the UK is wise enough NOT to jump on, so far, AFAIK, IMO

Let's HOPE SA will be wise enough to wait a few years for MSRs
rather than "settling" for anything with Fuel-Rods, like IFR.)

      My 2.2 cents only. YMMV.

  • Apologies if this is a stupid question..
But I currently have a mobile plan with Telstra but I always run out of data (1GB a month); how does this sim thing work? Presumably I would alternate between sim cards (ie. use my main plan one and when that runs out for the month, use Amaysim?)

the data pack is only for data only, not calls.
You'd have a easier time if you have a seperate device to use the SIM on, like a pocket wifi modem or another smartphone / tab.

You can swap out the sims in and out from your current Telstra phone (it has to be unlocked) but it's a giant hassle and second you really don't want to wear out your phone's SIM slot / tray swapping SIMS so many times.

      • +1 on No Calls (from Deal SIM), but,
if you can Free yourself from Apple:

        • there are Dual-SIM phones about…
  • backup- broad band: not as popular as unlimited 5Gb sampler ?

  • Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    $99.90 - $29.97 (30deal) - $24.00 cashback = $45.93 for 10gb?

    • yes

      • If so, it's ALMOST as cheap as Optus' MyPrePaid Daily Plus' $4 / GB

Mobile Broadband Sim Activation (1GB,2.5GB,4GB,10GB): $9.90

      1GB Plan for $9.9 - 2.9(30%) = $7

Does this mean a $9.9 cash back on top of $7 spend ?

    • It says $24.00 cashback for each validated 1GB, 2.5GB, 4GB or 10GB Transaction.

Since 1GB costs $9.9AUD - let's say $10, you get 24 - 9 = $14 to spend to get another 1GB. Keep doing this you end up with unlimited data. If there is such a glitch, people on ozbargain would have posted about it.

And from qwibble: "Please note that Members should only use voucher codes listed on Qwibble. If you use voucher codes or gift vouchers that are not listed on Qwibble your cashback may not track or may be declined." - 30DEAL is not listed.

And the webpage you link to contain a single paragraph of about 3000 words. It won't get read.

All these makes this look unlikely a real offer. Did anyone tried and get that $24?

      • you will need to stay connected to the 1GB data plan for 90 days before they pay you. So $30 amaysim over 3 months for $24 cashback

    • For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:

      $24 For Each Validated 1GB, 2.5GB, 4GB or 10GB Transaction

Please note that Members should only use voucher codes listed on Qwibble.
If you use voucher codes or gift vouchers that are not listed on Qwibble your cashback may not track or may be declined.

This particular voucher code is not listed on Qwibble.

Depends on how long you want to use it over. Amaysim gives 12 months. Optus 1 day.

  • Each session will be rounded up to next KB is it fair

  • Wow, their normal price is the same as Telstra….

  • What is the best pocket wifi modem for this?
