      Annual leave day? Get paid to have the day off, volunteer, get concert ticket ;)

      • You don't get "paid to have the day off" with an annual leave day - you are using an accrued benefit that you worked to earn (at the rate of 0.1 hours per hour worked or whatever it is in the FWA).

        an annual leave day spent volunteering is an annual leave day lost on holidaying or doing what you otherwise wanted to do.

        (unless you wanted to volunteer on your days off, in which case you probably wouldn't need an optus scheme to encourage you to do so).

        nevertheless, it's a good idea!

          Haha I wondered where you were going there :P

          Some companies give 1 or more PAID day called 'volunteer day'. Company I work for does it, they give me 1 paid volunteer day per year.

          @hasher22: if your company gives you that, definitely worth taking up to get the Ticketmaster voucher!

        • Telstra give staff one volunteer day per year. It's not part of their annual leave.

        • @PVA: that's really nice, if only Telstra employed more people locally.

          @hasher22:
          Same here :) but it's only a new thing so I don't think anyone has tried it yet. But I am definitely going to use it!

  • "You can only claim one music reward (either an exclusive gig ticket or $70 Ticketmaster voucher) in any 6 month period" so it seems that this might be an ongoing thing for the exclusive concerts however on the other hand the vouchers are limited.

    Edit: Limited to 1000 it seems

  • peking duk, fek ya!

    Interesting. If you've already done something recently, would that be counted?
