I don't know if this is a bargain as the main cost of this qualification is always the exam, and without it obviously you don't hold the qualification. Not bad if you're just after some knowledge and reading material though.

I do think it's the single best qualification to get if you're after a foothold in the IT industry and you don't have any experience or other quals yet.

Misleading title, as per usual you need to pay separately for the exam so there is NO certification included in the price

    • Thanks for the feedback, I've updated the title.

      • Great work Strydus

As mentioned above you still have to pay for exams, which for those four subjects will cost you about $1k, maybe a little more. You then have to pay a subscription fee of $25/year for three years to maintain the qualification and then it expires unless you sit the exams again.

The A+ exam is the lowest, most basic qualification you can get. I got it myself when I was 19 or so. I didn't learn much from studying, I knew the majority of what the exam covered already, I just needed to sharpen up my terms and memorise things like various BIOS beep codes. I did this by reading the book on the walk to work in the morning for a week or two.

That said, if this course provides all required materials (barring the exams) to learn everything in A+, Network+ & Secuirity+ then it's decent value. The cost of the books to study them would be more than that in most cases.

Other nonsense with this deal: advertised as normally $1077. According to web.archive.org it was €350 a week ago. During this special it's being listed at €785. So probably more like $450 USD normally. They also seem to frequently run this sort of $49 special with groupon and the like.
