Airwick Life Scents Wax Melt Electric Prime $7.50 at Coles, Normally $15- $17

270

I stumbled across this in a Coles supermarket today. Usually $16.50 at Coles (which is a bit of a rip, I also saw it for $15 at Woolies today). Have wanted to try one for a while, but anything over ten bucks for the printer/razor when they're gonna milk you forever for toner/blades is just a bit too much!

Bought one. Basically a little 'hot plate' that gets warm enough to melt wax and a ceramic bowl that sits on top. A detachable power cable with a 'figure 8' plug. I'm now wondering if the 'hot plate' could be used to keep a mug of coffee warm in what's left of these cold winter nights

She Who Must Be Obeyed tried it and gave her approval. A gentle smell (sorry, 'scent') wafts around the place. The smell (sorry, 'scent') is not overpowering, just enough to mask my flatulence without (further) burning my delicate sinuses. You end up with a little puddle of wax that solidifies again pretty quickly when the power is turned off. $7.50 seems about right for this.

(Can't find it in the current catalog, but I see there's a bunch of other Airwick stuff on special at Coles in the on-line store right now)

Looks like a good deal. I found many airwick product at half price which should be in the current catalogue, however I still felt they were overpriced…

  • Thx. I have a free scented wax sample I got from one of the deals here. Just waiting for a sale on those wax melters.

  • Cheers OP, grabbed one and went to Dusk to get some soy wax melts. 3 for $15, noped right out of there and straight onto eBay.

  • Been eyeing an electric burner for a while. Headed to my local coles specifically for it but they don't sell it :(

  • +1

Could you put Vicks into one of these? (asking for a friend ;) )

  • Would water with several drops of essential oil instead of wax work in this contraption ?

    • Yes. I would say it works exactly the same as an oil burner - but using electricity instead of a tea candle

Using water and essential oils evaporates, so just make sure u don't leave it running too long.

Those melts don't evaporate at all surprisingly, they just lose their scent slightly each time u use them.

  • Cheers, OP, got one from Blacktown Coles, now I am trying with few drops of eucalyptus, hope it's not exploded,

    • How was it???

  • Cairnlea(Melbourne) has few at $7.50

  • I can highly recommend Glow Creations - Soy Candles on Facebook. She sells a block of 6 soy (supposedly more natural than wax) melts for $6. Huge variety of fragrances to choose from.

She's in Mount Evelyn, Vic but am sure that she posts orders out or may even drop off to u in certain areas as long as it's a bigger order. Definitely around Glen Waverley.

  • Are they Made In China or Australia?

    • yes

      • They're Made in Australia?

        Wow

  • Are there any still around ? I'm in Vic…
