Tudor Box of 500 DL Size Envelopes $1 @ Officeworks Box Hill South VIC

460

If one could treasure a bargain for ream of A4 paper every now and then, then the same person should see this as a rare find.

Walking in the OW Box Hill South store and saw a tall pile of boxes with a special yellow clearance poster for $1 at one of the back aisle. Thought it could be some sort of junk again, but the curiosity took the better of me and decided to take a look - some boxes of envelopes there. Then I got carried away when I had a look of what's inside, 500 of them in a box. My quick OzB unit price checker at the back of my head promptly reported that it works out to be 0.2 cents per envelope hence this is a no brainer.

Grab 2 of the big boxes quickly to the front counter to pay and verify the price. Correct, 500 envelops going for $1. The checkout chick was rightfully surprised for that price. The guy at the next counter, who actually moved the envelopes down to the aisle, said it was going at the same price for a little while, but since this clearance line was not moving while sitting on the shelf (Yep, OzB bargain detection unit failure on my part in the previous visits), he's moving the stock to somewhere more visible and hopefully can clear them quicker - and I'm more than happy to help out, hence this post.

There were about 20 boxes left when I got mine. Grab yours if you can work out what you can do with 500 envelopes.

saw a tall pile of boxes

    A box hill?

it works out to be 0.2 cents per envelope

    That's a back-of-envelope kind of calculation.

  • Aren't these generally put on sale because the self-sticky part is no longer sticky? They dry up after a while it seems.

Won't be ranged in stores anymore, hence clearance pricing.

The envelopes are of the peel-and-seal type. I've just tried one and it seems to stick reasonably ok.

  • Do you think it is available in other OW locations?

Please report back once you find out.

    • That's why I've attached the receipt so that you can try your luck in other OW stores by quoting their internal catalog number.

    • Looks to be held up to a laptop webcam.

      • That explains it

I was just there, couldn't see them. Damn! :( All gone.

  • Thanks for this. Went to Officeworks Werribee and found a large box of 50 bubble mailers of 4 sizes tagged $5, I took 2 boxes but as they scanned only $2, I got 2 more. I think 3 more boxes left.
