Thanks for this TA. If I put this in my incoming phone (LG G4) I'd have 20 times the storage of my outgoing phone (Nexus 4, 8Gb). It's amazing what $75 can do!

Could we get a deal on Sandisk Extreme microsdxc 64gb please :)
    (not pro version)

    • +1

+1 would like to see a deal on the Sandish Extreme Micro SD SDXC! Please make it happen TA!

  • GoPro Hero 4 Sliver compatible?

    • +1

I would rather put smaller and faster card in the GoPro (i.e. Extreme or Extreme Pro)
This is really mor for a storage for your phone or tablet. Should be fine in a point and shoot camera too.
If in doubt, you can check on the Sandisk compatibility site:
      http://pct1.sandisk.com/default.aspx#
Choose GoPro and then Action Cameras and then your GoPro 4 Silver.

    • Also…max capacity for GoPro memory cards is 64GB according to most sources.

    • I have a similar challenge, found this, addressed my concerns, hope it helps others too (GoPro Memory Card requirements, HERO4)

      http://havecamerawilltravel.com/photographer/gopro-4-memory-…

      Also official GoPro site:
      http://gopro.com/support/articles/software-update-release

      • I chuck a 64GB Samsung Evo and set my gopro to 720p 60 fps then took it for a mountain bike ride.
the footage is scrappy and laggy at plenty spots..

I might try a lower fps and see if it helps…

        • The Samsung EVO model may not have a fast enough write speed? Not sure of exact specs

I know from reading that PRO version is definitely capable of the task, potentially EVO+ I am not sure though if the write speeds are up to it on that one.

Most old devices wont take SDXC?

  • Would this work well with the LG G Flex 2 or would a faster model perform noticeably better ?

  • Another great Arsebargain! Thanks TA!

  • +1

Bought one of these in the last $74 deal. Feel so satisfied now that the price has risen xD

  • Anyone aware of the write speeds?

    • Just done a quick test on one I have in my phone currently 39mbs Read , 10.6mbs Write…. 122mb Total 40gb free

      • +2

Just a giant microSD then, nothing fast

        • +2

Yup only thing ultra is the price (normally)

      • Did you use an app on the phone to test the speed or did you remove it and test on a pc?

        • Just an app on the phone, phone case makes it a bit too painful to pull it out and test that way.

        • @akoli:

That's cool, was actually hoping you had tested it in the phone as I've been wondering how fast/slow these cards were. I bought the Kingston 128GB from this deal and used this app to test it - it comes back at 58 read, 20 write and I wasn't sure if that was good or bad or how it compared etc.

There's 200gb ones on amazon FYI.

Shits starting to get REAL :)

      • Cool. I'm pretty excited ;)

But I never finished my retagging project to fill my 128gb one. Feel such a tool for buying it when what I really needed (space wise at least.. forgetting that I still havent retagged stuff) was 200gb+…

        Oh well.

    I used this with this
    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Short-Micro-SD-SDHC-TF-Card-Adapter…

    For my MacBook Air
Just a heads up for people wanting to use micro sd in their MacBooks without the card adapter sticking out. I leave mine in 24/7 and it looks like nothing's there - except 128gb extra storage for cheap!

This seller of adapter is also very good - ordered Monday it arrived on Wednesday!! 2 days from Melb to Syd.

    • Could you please take a pic and a screenshot of it? How come I've read many sources that say 64gb is the max capacity this adapter works with. I have this adapter but I currently have no memory card in it, and was waiting for a good 64gb deal. I also have a Mac Air. It would be appreciated if you could show me it works!

      Thanks.

EDIT: And oh! Possibly read/write speeds on Blackmagic or something similar? Much appreciated!

      • Read and write speeds are not affected by the adapter just so you know -
It's the cards that affect the speed , the adapter is just a bridge so to speak for the card to connect to the computer.

So whatever card you have determines the speed.

128gb worked fine in mine MacBook Air 13" with this adapter, however don't quote me on that , other macs maybe different , and on that eBay ad it says max is 64gb, but I tried with 128gb and it worked so yeh

    Will s6edge take this?

    • +2

Didn't think the new flagship Samsungs had SD slots… going down the apple route, I'd have thought they'd have realised that people that want an apple have an apple…. I'll be on the note 4 for a long time it seems, you get used to having 160gb available.

I think there are special cases with extended batteries and built in sd card slots coming out to make up for these shortcomings.

    • No removable storage or battery in the s6edge sorry.

  • I have a MacBook Pro 2013 will this still work

    • Might need a microSD-to-USB converter

Hi TA thanks for the great post. Just wondering if it would be possible to lower their ebay price as we can use up our $50 ebay vouchers on this great product. Thanks

  • Is this the new up to 80MB/s card or the older up to 48MB/s card?

    • +1

Hi silent, this is the old 48MB/s card

  • Will this work with a sony xperia z?

    • Anyone have a clue? haha

      • It's 4:30 in the morning, all the smart people are asleep :)

  • This says class 10 but doesnt have that U symbol that's supposed to be faster than class 10. The latest Samsung micro sd deals have the U and the 1 on the sd displayed very clearly but they are always referred to as Class 10 micro sds. Can someone explain to me if there's a difference?

    • The class 10 cards may or may not have UHS compliance and the ones that aren't won't benefit from using a UHS adapter with bus speeds of up to 104MB/s.
U1 cards have the UHS bus which results in improved speeds using an UHS adapter compared to a High Speed adapter (25MB/s) although minimums are still at 10MB/s.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speeds

      • The card displays the UHS-I bus mark Micro SDXC I, so it supports the UHS bus mode.
However it doesn't display a UHS Speed Class, i.e. "U1".

From what I've read on various forums (eg, SanDisk's reply to these queries is "UHS-1 (Ultra high speed) is equivalent to class 10. All UHS-1 memory cards have 10MB/s of minimum data transfer speed same as a class 10 card."

  • Great deal!

  • Good deal.

  • That'd be right… Right after I bought a HTC One M9, and a 128MB 80MB/s Samsung card in the ebay sale, after trying to decide if there was any point in paying an extra $20 to get double the speed.

  • +1

    Gracias classyarse.

  • Just a little warning that they send the MicroSD on a regular mail (which is common anyway). I unfortunately had 1 out of 3 (32Gb MicroSD from previous deal) delivery missing from their previous deal. I used a parcel collect address, but nothing could be done since it's untrackable. Contacted support and fransesca but no solution so far.

    • That's not good to hear. Hopefully something's worked out.

Hi anakbali, a new unit has been sent out on Monday with registered tracking. Sorry I might have forgotten to drop you a PM on the tracking. Will do that shortly.

      • Hi Francesca, that's great news. I'm not sure how we can prevent this happening in the future, I understand regular mail is the most cost effective delivery for small items such as these and I actually don't mind. It's just that on the very rare occasion of delivery issues we won't have any way to track the problem. Thank you for the excellent service by your company, I'm happy with the way you guys handling it. Cheers.

    • Update: They have sent me a new one and properly received this time. Excellent service in my book. Thank you Francesca and PC Byte.

  • Sigh pulled the trigger. Thanks TA and Francesca

  • holy crap are micro sd going to replace HDD

    • LOL…sometimes in the future it might comes with 1TB space

    • LOL

      good call.

  • Wanting to get a microSD memory card for someone owning a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (SM-T350) 16gb. Just wondering if this would be the ideal speed card for the tablet?

  • Super good service. Arrived overnight!

    • Same. Ordered yesterday morning and arrived today with registered postage. Worked out cheaper than any of eBay sellers even with the current 20% off sale for selected stores.

Can't believe Officeworks sell this same card online only for $199.
